Personally, I think he and his wife just want stability and are going to stay put in Michigan for quite a long time. That was way too much drama for one family to handle. Ann Arbor loves him too much to not let him have what he wants, unlike Stanford who wouldn't succumb to all his control freak needs.

What a horrible take. Do you even believe half the shit you post?

I get the idea behind being aggressive, but there is also a wide, wide, wiiiide gap between being scared to draft a QB and trading 6 draft picks for one.

But people said the same thing when Washington made the RGIII trade. Just like there's no rule that you have to wait for Andrew Luck to draft a QB in the 1st round, there's no rule saying you have to mortgage the entire draft to move up to #1 to get one either. But if you do go that route, he better be that good.

Or the Rams Draft A QB in the 1st and maybe a later round and behold, that later round QB ends up being a super star.
Kroenke is the new Kraft, get use to it

Been said time and time again, it was a shitty draft. I mean, you guys were hoping for Geno Smith at #1, ROFL.

And chandler Jones is a better pass rusher than Justin houston.

We each have our crosses to bear I suppose

At least he's actually a good player who plays in playoff games and helped his team to a SB win as opposed to being a bust like Geno Smith, Clausen, Sanchez. Need I go on?ROFL

Don't worry. As a Chiefs fan, you can look forward to defending the average play of average QB's for decades to come.

You've got it wrapped up!

I disagree. They just set up their future.

I can't believe that people are freaking over a couple of 2nd round picks and a couple of 3rd round picks. Less than 50% of those picks pan out.

If they got their QB, like the Giants did in 2004, phantom 2nd rounders won't matter.

I understand the reasoning behind wanting to make a huge splash to impress LA/the league/media... not to mention potentially setting themselves up with a face of the franchise for the next decade

But maaan, TWO firsts - TWO seconds - AND TWO thirds just sounds incredibly steep

Two firsts is reasonable enough, that seems pretty common for a move like this

But after that they should've bargained a LOT harder IMO... a second this year and a third next year, something along those lines

And, not trying to rain on your parade as I can CLEARLY sense your glee at having a home team to get behind :D... but seriously, Fisher will most likely ruin the guy before a new coach makes his way in

He is the last guy I would want coaching my rookie phenom, that guy doesnt know a quarterback from Nickelback

Pasta Little Brioni 04-16-2016 05:39 PM

Dane is correct. Have you gone back and looked at the 2nd and 3rd rounds of drafts? It's pretty ugly.

Toby Waller 04-16-2016 05:46 PM

a report said the Rams worked out an Oregon QB today or yesterday

Pasta Little Brioni 04-16-2016 05:51 PM

Rams homer announcers jerked it to the thought of Mannion playing this year ROFL So glad that turd franchise is out West.

You're missing the point, IMO. The Rams have been stuck in perpetual mediocrity, not because they haven't been drafting well, because they have. They have the 2014 Rookie Defensive Player of the Year, the 2015 Rookie Offensive player of the year and a very stout defense. The reason they haven't been able to get over the hump is due to the QB position.

They received a 2nd round pick in the Bradford trade, so it was a no-brainer to trade up for a QB.

This is a league in which there's a 50% bust rate so even with the #1, 2 #2's and 2 #3's, 2-3 of those guys won't even be in the league in three years. If they hit on a Franchise QB, no one will care.

Also, as I mentioned earlier, they have an additional 4th and 6th. The Broncos are interested in Case Keenum, so they'll probably get at least a 4th for him, if not a 3rd (Denver has two 3rd rounders at #94 and #98).

This trade was a no-brainer for a team that hasn't had a Franchise QB since Warner hit a lull in 2003, was released and went to the NY Giants in 2004.

It has nothing to do with "splash" and everything to do with moving the team forward.

it will be a golden turd soon

saphojunkie 04-16-2016 06:05 PM

THey probably had a better chance of finding a franchise guy by just literally using every one of those picks on a QB.
