Looks like he's ready for a Wal-Mart trip down here in Arkansas.

Aldon Smith checked himself into rehab. LMAO

Tough, never missed a game/practice, very good open field tackler and solid in the intermediate routes.

He's got the resume to be a good box safety.

I wouldn't limit him to just a box safety, the dude did play corner in college after all.

He could probably do about anything they ask.

Which is exactly why I think Dorsey is loading up on corners that are great tacklers. If Gaines and Nelson work out, I wouldn't be surprised to see Russell used at safety either. Especially if they're confident in White as a backup.

I wouldn't use him as an outside CB, but I would use him as a slot CB if Nelson doesn't work out.

I think they'll roll with MP22, Gaines, Nelson, Russell and White at CB and keep Murray at SS

Just skip to 39:10

Wow. I remembered that wrong. It was their LT that was the backup. My mistake.
But I stand by the point that a guy who had one good game vs a guy who was that bad is no way to judge how good that guy can be.
I hope Ford can turn into something, and was encouraged by that game because he showed better than ever exhibition action, but it was no definitive show of his ability. It was a speed guy running around a slow-footed back up.

pugsnotdrugs19 07-29-2016 01:36 PM

We've got Peters, Gaines, Nelson, Russell, White at CB under contract for at least the next 2 years, most of them 3-4. At safety, you've got Parker and Murray under contract for the next several years and then a bunch of one-year guys.

So really, we don't have any sure replacements for Berry already on the roster. Hopefully Murray is that guy, and maybe Fleming or Cooper show promise, but there's not a lot of clear cut answers on the back end right now or going forward.

Very much looking forward to what these guys show come preseason.

I go back and forth on this topic quite a bit but based on what we know, our most valuable, irreplaceable players on the roster heading into this season would go like this for me:

1. Smith
2. Peters
3. Kelce
4. Houston (just because of how elite he is, think we have to have him come playoffs)
5. Maclin

O.city 07-29-2016 01:59 PM

Maclin is probably 1 a with smith.

He's up there, but I just have a lot more confidence in the WR depth now compared to years past.

Between Conley, Wilson, Hill, Streater, Williams... someone would surely step up and make some plays.

Marcus Peters makes me hard
