He played a pretty good game on the biggest of stages. A playoff win many good QBs can’t get until late in their careers. Even though he’s still learning. Even with a team that’s big time in rebuild mode. Last time I checked mahomes didn’t have a very good Super Bowl vs the niners. But he came up huge when it mattered. And that made it an outstanding game for him. |

He has more issues that I thought, but part of the problem seems to be inconsistencies with route-running among his receivers. Kind of surprising, you'd think Doug would have corrected that type of thing by now. Anyway, a good breakdown of the WC game:

Mildly concerned about a few of those 'irrational' decisions about where to go with the ball, like throwing that 7 route over the DB to the sideline, when the skinny post was so wide open, which really is a much easier pass, but I have to believe that Doug has gone over that with Trevor by now, and they'll fix that as well. I just wonder why they haven't already dealt with it; that kind of thing doesn't just pop up 18 weeks into the season. Trevor has to have been doing similar things, if not the exact same thing, all along. And the drifting in the pocket; Doug knows better than that, so why is Trevor still doing it? Probably why so many of his passes get batted. Anyway, an interesting watch. |

Dude Trevor Lawrence showed big old balls and Justin Herbert showed to be free of balls. That defense gift wrapped him a playoff win and he shit his pants. Couldn't do anything to keep a drive going.
The announcers were sucking his nuts well into the 4th quarter though. Herbert is basically Phyllis. Sucks in big moments and Phyllis was lucky to not have a Mahomes to keep him from getting an AFC West title. Herbert won't be that lucky and probably will win 1 or 2 playoff games at most. |

On the other hand, I've watched Herbert throw away games on terrible passes or decisions at least a half a dozen times, so maybe he really is just good and not elite. But I'd like to see what a real OC/QB whisperer could do with him before passing final judgement on him. Just my two cents. |
His value is exactly equal to Mahomes on one ankle.
