The draft is in KC next year. No way they are trading their first rounder.

I just got an NFL app notification for it.

The Carolina Panthers are trading wide receiver Robbie Anderson to the Arizona Cardinals, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday, per a source.
The trade comes one day after Anderson was removed from the sideline by interim coach Steve Wilks during Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Rams after the wideout got into multiple spats with wide receivers coach Joe Dailey.
NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reports the Cardinals will now owe Anderson the remaining $690,000 prorated portion of his base salary.

This is the dumbest take that keeps getting repeated. If Veach is making team-building decisions based on the draft being in KC, he has no business being in that job.

Ha , I mean the owner pretty much gave him orders not to trade the first because we’re hosting the draft. Veach said it himself in his interview during the draft. We all heard it straight from the GM. Owner wants to be eating caviar and drinking wine amongst all his billionaire friends while we March out to the podium with card in hand announcing our First round pick!

He had a video where he said the one thing he can't trade is the 1st (and Mahomes I assume) from next years draft. Veach himself said that Clark wanted to have a pick in the first round.

I think Veach made a flippant comment once when answering a question. Pretty sure that the Chiefs FO & ownership would trade the first round pick if a favorable offer was available. However unlikely. As for the caviar and wine, that was part of a Dwayne Bowe quote that included something about “importing women.” Clark is not down with caviar. Food allergy.

I could be wrong, but it seemed pretty clear to me that was a tongue-in-cheek comment. In no world should a multi-billion dollar business be affected by an event in town.
