If there's someone that knows LESS about the NFL in forum, I'd be shocked, although you and Tattoo are neck in neck. |
Here we go Geno! Here we go! Hoohoo!

I am comparing Round 1 to round 2+. The argument here is first round or not, not first round or 2nd round. |

JFC, if you're going to use percentages, use the CORRECT percentages. Either that or I'm going to force you to get a Chiefs tattoo on your chest. Which is it? |
Let's look at it like this. The numbers suggest you either get a guy in the first round, or you find a guy in the late rounds.
Let's just look at the 21st century. The numbers suggest that either you get a guy in the first round, OR you get a guy in the late rounds that you feel good about. |

You seem to think that there is an even distribution of QBs selected throughout each round of the draft that are picked with the assumption that they will the the starter for the team. The fact that you don't understand what is so wrong with that assumption is your problem, not everyone else's. |
Wouldn't smarter money be on the 55% who WERE 1st round picks if we're going to use that as a measure of smart ways to find Super Bowl QBs?
I mean, I'd rather it be about the PERCENTAGE of those QBs that do great things instead of just looking at the number of those type of players that won Super Bowls. A shit ton of undrafted QBs won Super Bowls, you say? Interesting. How many of them are there in any given year compared to the number of QBs drafted in the first round? And even if you want to say, "All that means is there's no one way to acquire a Super Bowl winning QB", why would you completely ignore the most successful classification of Super Bowl-winning QBs? To not go for ANYONE of that group in 30 years, that is. |

GENO SMITH IS THE STARTING QB FOR THE NEW YORK JETS

Kristian Dyer (Jets beatwriter) just stated on NFLN that without question, the Jets had Sanchez locked into the starting job prior to the injury. That it was clear from inside that Geno was "gifted" the starting job because of Rex's poor decision to play Sanchez in that game where he was injured.
Either way, I won't judge Geno too harshly until he gives us reason to in games that count. If forced to bet money, I'd say he struggles mightily and falls apart emotionally soon after. But whatever... not even sure why KC or its fans should care at this point. |

Chiefs fans think they have seen the story with Alex Smith the retread before. I have seen this story before too. The franchise qb who isn't ready coming into a shit storm of an organization that is sinking. Yeah...... Its not gonna end well. |
I'll say this much.. if Geno struggles mightily, but eventually becomes a good quarterback down the road? I'll tip my hat to him, for sure.
|
New York City will chew him up and spit him out.
Rookie QB, bad team, murderous fanbase/press? Oh yeah, he's ****ing doomed. |
I was watching NFLN this morning, and they were talking about Geno NOT watching tape on Revis. I realize the dude is coming off an ACL injury, but come one. Revis found it interesting as well. maybe Geno doesnt plan on throwing it his way?

Even if this is just blowing smoke up the medias ass. Probably not a great idea to insult one of the best corners in football. A guy who already has a chip on his shoulder is already pissed at the team you play for and now you basically verbally bitch slapped him in the media. Ive seen smarter strategies. Killing with kindness perhaps? Antagonizing a player that is far better than you are? Not so much. |

I had dinner last night with a founding family of the Jets.
A few drinks in, I asked "What's the Over/Under on Smith to Revis INT's in Week One?". There was a silent pause, followed by insane laughter. Three was the consensus. |
If you're a Geno fluffer, him being thrown in to start right out of the gate (as the worst of three bad choices, only because another of them is injured) is about the last thing you wanted to happen.

So, Splatbass is all worked up about Manning, and now worried senseless, so it's time to come bag on rookie Geno.
Got it. |
Geno won't be a dumpster fire Sunday. He's too smart.
Also, the Jets aren't stupid. He isn't going to throw 30 passes in the first three quarters. He'll run a more conservative gameplan that takes the pressure off him. I'm expecting something like 14 of 24 for 200 yards, maybe 1 TD and 1 pick. The important thing is he continues to flash and make progress. He had some mistakes in his last game, but did some very positive things. Two TD drives, 4 or 5 very nice throws down the field....keep building, Geno. You are choco-fabulous! |

Besides, if he was smart, he would of aced all of his pre draft interviews and more than likely on another QB starved team, a team he might of had a chance to succeed on. Dude is a dunce with a gun as an arm |

Of course, for the Chiefs, it might as well be 2009...

LMAO why does he need to watch tape when he has firsthand information from the team whom he played for for years with teammates he's played with for years? Holy mother yall are reaching for gat darn anything right now and look ridiculous for it.

The correct answer even if just a lie is, "oh absolutely, he is one of the best corners in the game, you have to give him that respect." You never ever corner a badger. And if you do corner it, and its already pissed, I would advise NOT poking it with a stick. You will understand come sunday. |

Anti-Geno crowd is so desperate. |

It's completely ludicrous. Geno was a model citizen at WVU and in HS. Leaf had known issues coming in, and it wasn't surprising when he melted down. |
