I keep forgetting.

Do we decide the winner of each game based off of yards or points?

He had a pretty good year last year too, and you all were quickly escorted out of the playoffs. The much more meaningful stat for you all is 7-1, but the amount of points you guys are giving up should give you vast amounts of concern.

Truthfully, we don't even allow a ton of yards on the ground; we just give them up at a higher clip than most other teams. Attribute that to the bad game against Philly and Pryor/Fitzpatrick running on us or what have you. I don't think anyone is worried about that and certainly no one that actually watches us play thinks our run defense is a weakness.

Something to also note, its obvious that our defense is still stellar without the turnovers. There was some concern, mostly from rival fans on this board, that we might not be able to remain so strong on defense without the help of the ridiculous turnover rate we were enjoying early in the season. In the past three games, I can only remember forcing two turnovers- the game-clinching strip by Tamba and Bess's muffed punt. Yet we're still winning games and still haven't allowed more than 17 points in any game.

We have a much tougher go of it coming up in the second half of the season but I still feel good about where we stand on defense.

ROFL Those three words crack me up in a Bronco troll thread.

To me, that sounds like the best way to take out one of the most sound pocket passers to ever play the game. Manning is so good that he can find the right outlet instantaneously, and will more than half the time beat the pass rush in getting the ball out of his hands. The key to beating him lies in what the defense does with the other 40% of the snaps. Hitting him is crucial. If you hit him enough times, he's generally prone to wilting.

The Colts play the same scheme as the Chiefs only with far less talented players throughout. Peyton needs to put in a lot of extra work when that game comes up so he can correct the mistakes he made in that game. Not only will he be dealing with that, but he'll be dealing with better players, tighter coverage, and a better pass rush.

The Chiefs are also a very good defense against screens. I don't think that's going to help him out much.

Yes, KC will be the best defense Denver has played. However, I'm not sure how the conversation turned into KC vs Manning. I was talking about KC's defense over the whole course of the remainder of the season.

I think the 3 weeks after the bye week be very telling, Den-SD-Den to test KC's D and KC-NE-KC to test Den's O.

Win for Foxy? The NFL is seldom that rah-rah. The Broncos, however, could do their ailing coach a favor by helping to monitor his blood pressure.

"Coach Fox is going through some hard times right now, and I'm sure he's stressing, being away from work," Broncos defensive tackle Terrance Knighton said.

"So the best thing we can do is work hard, win and be the team that he wants to see.

"I think giving him that happiness can help his health. I don't want the game to be tied 21-21 with 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter and the other team with the football on our 1-yard line. That would put coach's heart rate through the roof. We don't need him watching anything like that on TV while he's trying to get his health back."

All the Denver media, twitter folks, and fans are so obsessed with the Chiefs. It is really hilarious. Everything they do not right now is geared towards finding some stat that makes thems feel better about the situation because they just can't get over us having the one stat advantage that matters.

Yeah, it makes no strategical sense with this offense.

I could see if we had a stellar offense we might want to receive first to put some pressure on the other team out of the gate... All we end up doing is putting ourself at a huge disadvantage.

Peyton wants you to blitz him because he'll get it blocked or will absolutely rape you with the screen game. A lot of our biggest plays this year have been screens that were thrown right into the blitz.

You don't understand Denver's mindset. They know that they are the best team in the NFL and that if they play their "A" game no team in the league can beat them. They aren't worried about KC, they won't be nervous about the game... Because at the end of the day, all that matters to them is what happens in the playoffs, regular season games are like practice. KC will be way more worried about playing us than we will be of them.

If they treat regular season games like practice, that's the wrong attitude. ENTIRELY. And now that their easy-ass cupcake schedule is over, if Denver still maintains that attitude they're going to get their asses beat. And hard.

Starting with San Diego, a team who can match them TD for TD in a shootout.

I'm not saying they're taking the games lightly or that they aren't trying. They just aren't looking at regular season games the same way teams like KC are. There isn't any pressure on us, we don't have a streak that we're worried about, all they care about is getting a little better every week so that they peak once the playoffs start.
