That's exactly the problem. Picking up someone elses leftovers at qb isn't part of rebuilding, it is purely a solution to get butts in the seats and get to 8-8 as quickly as possible. If Alex Smith isn't the future, (which by the way he is, we paid way to much for him to be here for just a year) then we aren't going to make any progress as a team. Sure, we have a young qb in Bray, but lucking our way into an UDFA isn't exactly what I'd call a grand plan for success at the most important position in sports.
