Best game of the season, perhaps?

i'll admit, i've checked out. just so many things going on. so when i turned the game on in the bottom of the 8th to watch boni lay an egg, i was bummed. some reason i decided to keep watching.

sure glad i did. forever royal.

Haven't really seen people talk about it, but O'Hearn now has an OPS of .884, driven mostly by a SLG of .589; do we think he has the ability to sustain something like that over the course of an entire season?

I think it's more simple than that - Royals fans were vested in Hosmer and Moustakas since their teenage years. They'd seen those guys come as babies. Gordon was a college kid but he was also 'the next George Brett'.

Cain was the 2nd piece in the Greinke deal to most. He just never captured the imagination of fans because of that.

Maybe you're right - maybe among rank and file Royals fans he was never given his due credit because he wasn't quite as popular due to the history. But as a general statement - "Lorenzo Cain was underrated during the Royals WS years" simply doesn't strike me as accurate. Across baseball people knew exactly how good Lorenzo Cain was.

Cain underrated by Royals fans? No!

That’s crazy.

Cain is a fan favorite! I think Hos and Moose got attention because they were home grown boys, but I think everyone, to a man, knew exactly what we had in Cain and LOVED him. Hell, I couldn’t care less what Hosmer and Moose do the rest of their careers, but I’ve been rooting for Cain all season long!

I wish them all well, equally.

Yeah, I may have been a little harsh, I don’t wish bad on any of them. But I was just extra happy to see Cain get paid! Also, the way he talked about his time in KC was very endearing. Just a good dude and GREAT player.

How could you not love the guy? He’s a joy to watch. I miss the interaction between him & Salvy.

Exactly! Brings back all kinds of memories. Man, those years were really special.

I dare say....if this club could get some pitching over the next couple years, we might....MIGHT be setup fairly well.

Speed, defense....and some hints of potential power too.

I'd rather watch kids like this than the duda's and Maurers of the world.

I think he has a much better chance of sticking than Dozier. Reminds me of Dunn a little bit. Worst case we may have a solid cheap DH.

Cain had so many great plays for us, both those are the three that always first pop in my head.
