It was going pretty well until about season 5. Then they spent too much time on Beth and the dumb hospital storyline. Since then they've spent 3 seasons on the Saviors and it took way way too long.

Yep. The Saviors story line should have been one season max. It was tired and played out long ago.

the biggest thing with me is that they are almost (kind of) caught up to the comic series. there are only so many ways that they can go at this point. sadly, this was totally inevitable.

After re-watching seasons 1-5, it's amazing how much the quality has suffered when they over-saturated the story with too many characters.
