At the time the Texans were morons for trading him.

Looking back it was a pretty smart move. The journeyman they signed to replace him was more productive than DHop was.

Yeah, the Texans got a better deal than the Cardinals did...

Meh. It's May, and there's a lot of speculations being thrown around right now. Anyway, it's closer to the truth than a lot of the other predictions/declarations in this thread.

Yes, it's somewhat hyperbolic to say that DHop guarantees a SB victory, but that's about the rest of the team, not DHop.

Mahomes/Travis staying healthy and the new OTs working out, at least as well as OBJ/Wylie did last season, are the bigger factors.

And at least one of our new crop of WRs has to perform at least at an NFL average level, and be available for most/all of the season.

The DL has to come together with its new pieces and perform at least 75-85% as well as they did last season.

If those things work out, then yeah, DHop would guarantee a SB appearance/Ring in 2023.

But that's quite a few "Ifs."

Wanna bet we don't sign him and still make it to the Super Bowl?

Seems pretty clear this guys being an asshat with his demands, or someone would've got him by now

Pretty sure his release isn’t official yet.

That’s not the question, or the point I was making.

Can the Chiefs get to/win a SB in 2023? I think so. It becomes more certain with Hopkins.

There’s no question that Hopkins would make getting to another SB significantly easier. And winning it as well, right? That’s the point of having more/better weapons/tools at your disposal.

OR- maybe we have weapons already on hand and the scouting was spot on and the coaching staff will have them ready to kick ass.

Okay. And even if I agree that’s possible.

It doesn’t change the fact that in Andy’s tenure as HC of the Chiefs that’s never happened, particularly as it pertains to the WR room and young/rookie WRs. Or TEs, for that matter.

So while it’s possible, historically the odds just aren’t very favorable in that regard.

I think it’s official tomorrow, team could still trade for him today.

What? You actually believe we're screwed? You REALLY think that?

Oh my man.

You still don't think these guys know what they're doing.

I don’t think that’s his point. Andy Reid has proven over time he can elevate average to worse receivers in his system. He has had a spotty record of getting great to elite receivers especially developing his own. He had a decent run at the end of Philly after years of guys like thrash/pinkston/FredEx. He has not to date developed a single decent WR since drafting tyreek hill.

So yeah, we will be more than fine. But historically we can’t put a lot of blind faith in it. Hasn’t been one of his stronger suits.
