Would just like to see where it says that. I have never heard anything like that before? Who was that QB coach?

The story goes that he pined to draft Brady for a few rounds at 1 point even getting up and leaving the room because it pissed him off that they didn't do it...finally they took Brady in the 6th and they had him rated equally with Tim Rattay.

Matt Cassell is the kind of draft pick you make when you already have your franchise QB, not when you don't have one.

I was more referring to the fact that, yes, he did pull another QB that no one had heard of out of his ass when he needed one. In my book, Belichick's position as a football genius is unassailable.

It would be a terrible draft choice for a rebuilding team, though, especially when you consider that he needed four years and a few weeks of live action to marinate.

Is he still coaching somewhere? That's quite a find! You would think he would have a nice career after that just based on that alone!

So, you failed to answer my question earlier: Are you stating that Aaron Curry is the second coming of Ray Lewis, as you suggested?

Furthermore, are you judging Gholston after one season? That's all he gets? One season?

And one more thing: Merriman wasn't top ten. He was chosen at #12.

As I've said repeadedly, I'm not saying he's Lewis, but he does have a lot of the same skill set. I bring up Ray because he is an exceptional LB who doesnt rush the passer.

Gholston was heralded as the second coming on this board last (particularly Mecca) year even though he hadnt reached his "potential" and he had Motivation problems. His new coach brought up the same issues this year. I hope he finds the motivation to succeed I really do, but I dont think that a player that cant get motivated to play is worthy of a high pick and thusfar that evaluation has been correct.

My bad on Merriman. He's still pretty valuable to his team. They werent the same without him.

I'd like to point out in this thread...I say Sanchez is a top prospect and a better one than Bradford and it's from the beginning of November.

Personally, I think the Chiefs could pick up Mortty Ivy in the 5th/6th/7th round area and get a player very comparable to Aaron Curry.

Sorry, trying to catch up...

Mecca you said colts (not looking for the quote again...lol)

I agree there were no stars on that team, but in the playoffs those guys came to life and started tackling running sideline to sideline and making plays. Their play during the season sucked, but they jumped to another level in the playoffs.

Gotta go (14 hr work days right now) but I'll leave with this:

I know that some are saying that Curry is just a coverage LB, but I disagree. just because he isnt a rusher doesnt make him just a coverage guy. He's well above average in every aspect of the game. I hear the argument about Sims earlier, but Sims is on the Lions. He makes tackles but he's not a playmaker and 1 player wont change the D by himself. If the QB's arent selected I think he's a playmaker on D who also brings a little attitude. I think I've been over what he should bring a few times. You like Jenkins. Thats
cool. What makes him your pick over Curry?
