Not the first time.

Im not going to read through the entire thread, but my opinion was this.

Whe the curious case of Benjamin Button beat out Iron Man and The Dark Night for Visual Effects, well, that's just BS, and thats the commity just out right denying a better movie in the given category because it wasn't a "sophisticated" film.

Basically, the Oscars are a crock of shite.

Actually (and I'm a big fan of both IM and TDK), I thought the visual effects were pretty amazing in benjamin button. What they did with brad pitt's character was a pretty clear indication of just how far forward we've come in the few years since Gollum broke new ground.

Not that I wasn't rooting for the comic book movies to win. But it was pretty damned impressive.

I am of the same opinion. The first third of the movie was absolutely carried by the visual effects behind the Benjamin Button character (well, carried by the effects AND Taraji P. Henson, anyway).

FWIW: I think that both TDK and Iron Man are better films than TCCoBB.

I thought The Dark Knight was as good as any of the 5 nominated, and better than most of them. I thought Iron Man was good, but a notch below that, although I've heard a few people say the exact opposite.

Neither of them ever had a chance, however, being comic book movies featuring superheroes.

Are there still Grown men, who watch wrestling?. That cracks me up. It's the same regurgitated story line over, and over again.

Brad Pitt sucks. He left my Jennifer in a pile of tears for that skank!

There is a certain biased mentality in Hollywood that the Special effects/genre films are not serious art worthy. They only serve the purpose to make $$.

Comedy is another genre that has gotten screwed over the years.
