Nice clutch triple DDJ.

I’m assuming its been talked about already, but we would have been screwed if the outfielder took the ground rule double on that triple, since it got caught in the wall.

Some tasty nuggets from testy tribe fans on the BB above.

Damn that forum is a disaster... I would really hate that format.

Meh, there wasn't one person on this thread that had not wrote off the game. Of course there was the possibility of a 4 run 9th inning come back. But what are the odds on that? There were a lot of people leaving when I left. I am still sorry I did though.

Shit happens.

Years ago, my favorite player to watch was Griffey Jr. when he was with Seattle.

So the Mariners are at Royals Stadium (pre-K) for a series and a buddy and I head out to the game. Junior takes the toughest 0-3 I've ever seen. Crushed the ball all over the field. A couple right at people, one a leaping catch against the wall.

Anyway, it's late, Royals are sucking a particularly large penis, and I told my buddy I wasn't leaving until I saw Griffey's last AB cause, "I know he's going to hit a HR."

We walk down to the lower level behind home as he comes up, and I'm fixated on the action. Just then, an usher hurries over to ask for our tickets. Why? I have no clue since the place was ****ing empty. Anyway, my buddy engages the dude in conversation, but I don't even bother cause I'm watching the AB. Just as the usher is kicking us the **** out, with my friend arguing, Jr. hits an epic blast. I'm laughing my ass off. My friend, however, didn't even see it. Too busy with the usher.

He was pissed, but shit happens.

According to Petro the stats said the Royals had a 1% chance to win that game.

Probably the same graph that alnorth uses.

i would think it would be lower than 1% considering I have seen 140 or so games where they are down 3 in the 9th and they lost

he doesn't hit home runs when people are on base, though.

What kind of a piece of shite fan are you? Leaving in the 8th inning because you feel the sandman coming on? It's not like you can sleep in that house with that giant, radiant, luminous globe yard lamp burning a hole through the windows in your house that was put in by the black neighbor you fear so much.

I mean.. did your old lady want to leave? Did she entice you to leave? Hopefully she banged you. And if she did, is your asshole still sore? Because only a guy who would take it directly into the Meremac cavern would leave a game in the 8th inning and MISS THE BIGGEST ****ING RALLY OF THE SEASON!!!

You are to fandom what Sprint is to customer service. Complete and total horseshit. You should outsource your fandom to India. At least then the stench of your posts would be graced with the fine smell of curry. I could then ask the guy who takes your place as a fan the latest cricket scores from the Wazihiri 1st division.

JFC, even Hillman stayed for the whole game. As much as you bitch about him, you should have at least stayed by his side during his finest hour. But Noooooooo. You were....... sleepy. You're the kind of guy who left Custer at Little Big Horn. I take that back. Anybody with any real sense would have left Custer, so you probably would have stayed.

You ****ing poseur you. I hope a 3cm kidney stone finds it's way into your urethra and I hope the urologist who has to remove it hears this story and uses a razor wire catheter.

anybody who leaves a major league baseball game because they are tired is either a girl or a homosexual.

speaking of which, here is that beautiful graph.

http://www.fangraphs.com/tgraphs/200...s_Royals_0.png

The Royals hit a low of 1.7% after Guillen grounded out to start the 9th. (Kinda surprised it was that high. 1.7% chance of winning down 3 runs bases empty with 2 outs left? Really?) After Teahen's homer, we were still only up to 11%.

Not surprisingly, the computer says that the 2 most important at-bats of the game were the last 2.
