Anyway, saw this message from one of my pals who works for a prominent local hospital, and whose daughter goes to SM West:

"I have it on good authority that she is in critical condition in a neuro ICU, and may not live. That has not been released to the media, but I know a few folks in the healthcare biz in town."

Wow....crazy and tragic.

This whole situation is very sad ... in all respects. Her husband has to live down the fact that he was apparently unable to satisfy her, a reasonably attractive young woman is off the market and, if she dies, her young lover is going to need years of counseling, and, on top of that, the school loses their freshman cheer coach.

I have to give her credit, though; if you want to commit suicide while giving your family a good shot at collecting on your insurance, a car accident is probably the best way to do it.

I dunno, someone on TMB did a mole comparison to a regular photo of her. Looked spot on.

It depends upon how long she had her life insurance policy. I know that several years ago, exclusions for suicide typically expired after the policy had been in force for a year or two.

This whole thing is really sad and tragic. That young teacher may not have been perfect, but she doesn't deserve to die.

St. Louis can do us one better. They have a teacher who was a former porno queen working at Parkway North HS! BTW: I think canning her is BS, she did nothing wrong at the HS and didn't have any improper relationships with students:

Parkway teacher placed on leave for adult film work

Tera Myers, 38, was put on administrative leave at Parkway North High School this week

A Parkway North High School science teacher who informed the school's principal Friday that she had been involved in the adult-film industry before becoming a teacher has been placed on administrative leave, according to a district news release.

The teacher, Tera Myers, requested the leave after a student approached her about her past, according to the district. She will be paid through the end of the school year.

Parkway, which did not identify the teacher in its statement, said the teacher began working for the district in August 2007 after passing standard background and reference checks.

A spokesman for the district said today that since the teacher's involvement in the porn industry did not break any laws, it wasn't revealed in the background checks.

Myers, 38, was suspended in 2006 from a teaching job in Paducah, Ky., according to news reports.

Other teachers and parents stood by her after her past was revealed, but her contract was not renewed because the superintendent feared her past would be a distraction for students, according to KMOV (Channel 4).

The teacher went on to share her story on the Dr. Phil television show before being hired at Parkway.
