And I don't know why people keep saying this is a three year deal. Once you get by the third year, the cap hit actually goes DOWN. Seems like a six year deal that is likely to play all the way out to me. |

Makes more sense to give a player like Howard or DeVito an extension/raise. But honestly, most of the players that are entering UFA are playing this year on a 'prove-it' type of situation. Sign Stephenson to an extension? Why would we and why would he? |

Dj and Tamba won't cost much if they wanna stay next year.

I would have preferred a backload. But the benefit is exactly as you say. Get the contract off the books quickly so you have leverage in the later years of the contract. If his contract ever becomes inflexible you can convert his base salary to bonus so any one of those years of 20m could easily be reduced to 10.

I'd like to see us keep Jaye Howard. He was the most underrated player on the team last year IMO. DeVito is surely gone though. And I think Colquitt will need to restructure. No justifying paying a punter $4.45 million. |
I fear our O line trying to shut him down week 3.

They'll roll some over but I really think they'll make a play for Mathis. |
