New rules are written that way.

As to your other great post, if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying. I believe a Head Coach said that.

that's a much better title than "We'd like to talk about this game but don't want to get fined"

Red Dawg 01-02-2022 06:42 PM

Last year Joe was a rookie and they certainly did not get games like this. They add Chase and now the division has shit in it that is good so they pump Joe today so the stars get the playoff nod. Funny how that changes when you good for tv players. Its not rocket science. If Baker would not have ripped the league they would have won in GB but they didn't get the calls.

Most wild since MNF 2015 against the Raiders in Oakland. :shake:

After the PI on Ward on 3rd and 3 in the fourth quarter i knew it was screwy. He was turned around playing the ball. Then the no call on the false start was gravy

Dick Butkus
Bubba Smith
Larry Johnson
Dwight Smith
Ray Lewis
Terrell Suggs

Have ALL come right out and said that the NFL "manipulates" the onfield product.

Do you think the TV Networks and newspapers/websites who literally feed off the teet of the NFL Shield would ever publicize that!?

Why the **** WOULD they?

Yep. I was with a group at a sports bar and we all said the same thing. The screw job was on and it was obvious.

Correct. The league could fix the issues with officiating whenever they want.

Are we really naive enough to believe the League can’t see what we see?

The league could easily afford to make refs full time, station more refs around the field of play, have 2-3 booth refs reviewing plays in real time, implement more technology to help with the human element, etc.

They could do all of this any given season. They don’t.

The Texans game, next week, will be interesting...I still cant see the NFL risking a ratings tank with a Titans SB.

NFL Inc isnt finished...

I dont know how you get away with posting your truisms all the time, but I get my stuff deleted. I dont really blame bearcat I kinda like the guy.

What is the secret to being able to call out the state of officiating here on CP, blackop? I'm but a neophyte compared to you.

AGREED! People trashing the defense and Spags are annoying. They played the same game they have the last 8 games... this time they were playing the refs, and you can't cheat the executioner.

"I played in the game, set a record - Super Bowl champion. The game ain't decided on the field. We knew every play they were going to run."

The Raiders inexplicably went back to the Gruden offense, audibles and all...

"We weren't the best defense, hell the Saints beat us twice. Ran Deuce McAllister down our throats. How come the Raiders didn't use THAT game plan?"

It's how the NFL maintains plausible deniability with the "inept" and 'part-time" excuses.

SO easy to fall back on that excuse, year after year.

Even with the most blatant screw-up in playoff history (outside of "forward progress") with the saints, they had ONE year of being able to challenge pass-interference. ONE.

The NFL will never get "better" refs, because they don't want "better" refs.

At least with Baseball, if an ump has a wide strike zone for one team, and a small one for the other, the batter can still swing and hit the ball, regardless of strike zone.

In the NFL, you have no chance against PI and illegal contact (and the deadly holding penalty that negates a score or 3rd down conversion).

ever since last year's super bowl, I watch half-heartedly......it's entertainment that is pushed and nudged in certain directions to:

1) avoid blowouts and people tuning out early
2) point-spreads
3) not allow teams to clinch divisions too early
4) create narratives/rivalries

You got it.

They've never nuked me for calling out NFL Inc here. Actually, as long as you :
Don't post nudes
Don't threaten anyone
And don't spam the board
The mods here are actually really cool in letting people have their voice.
