Justin Reid has played exceedingly well the last month and a half.

Yea, he's been fantastic.
He’s really turned it on. Both of our safeties seem to be playing their best football of the season right now.
The light definitely turned on for him after his whole trash talking issue.
He was pretty pish earlier in the season, but yeah, had a massive improvement down the stretch. To a lesser extent Thornhill's been the same.
Not watching HB, Dirty Dan, and Nieman chuckle**** all season has been a real treat.
Feel like he came on down the stretch. Maybe it’s more familiarity with the scheme, more cohesiveness developing in the unit over time, getting 21 back… probably a little of everything. We are definitely way ahead at that position now vs where we’d be with Mathieu, as much as I liked him when he was playing well for us.

I just hope Dallas does not not want him as their kicker.

That's the nature of 'good' football players. The difference between them and GREAT football players is that the good ones have more ups and downs. I don't think a light came on - he's just not a guy who's going to be great every week. He'll be great some weeks, bad in others. Because that's just what you get with good players instead of great ones. And that's fine - good is what we paid for. And it's what we're getting. |

I don't expect that he'll come out next year at this same level of performance, for example. I don't think he's suddenly 'locked in' to the defense. I think he's just found a bit of a zone and he's playing good ball right now. Ideally he has 3 more games of that in him. I just wouldn't take it to the bank. |
Neither of our safties takes the ball away nor do they often get to qb on a blitz. They don't force or recover fumbles. We could improve at the position but I am not unhappy just wish they were ball Hawks.
