The good thing about Davenport too is that I don’t think he would command top dollar at the position.

Sign Davenport, and draft an EDGE on day 2 next year.

That allows you to finally go WR in round 1.

We'll find out this year just how important DE is going to be next year with Danna and Kaindoh.

I'm not saying that Danna will ever be a top EDGE on this team....but if he can continue to improve....it will help.

No doubt. It’s entirely possible that those guys make you comfortable just getting Davenport and being done with the position for a couple years.

I've got my fingers crossed for Kaindoh. For the love of God....turn into something valuable.

JuJu may not make this roster

Good research, but as you can tell from that, it is pretty rare that a team is going to cut early to mid round drafted players in favor of keeping low cost players and UDFAs.

It wastes draft picks and cost money.

I think Devon Key looked pretty good in practice and to begin with in preseason games, but he later got exposed when he was behind on a play, his 4.61 speed would not allow him to catch up. We will see how he does this year.

It is easy for me to say, but not so easy to do. Don't let another poster's attacking opinion get you down.

Enjoy the Chiefs and what they are doing and keep on posting on Chiefsplanet.

Amén brother. Precíate you

My tentative 53.

QB: Patrick Mahomes, Chad Henne
RB: CEH, Ronald Jones, Isiah Pacheco
FB: Michael Burton
WR: Juju Smith-Schuster, MVS, Mecole Hardman, Skyy Moore, Justin Ross (UDFA), Justin Watson
TE: Travis Kelce, Blake Bell, Noah Grey
OT: Orlando Brown Jr., Darrian Kinnard, Geron Christian
OG: Joe Thuney, Trey Smith, Andrew Wylie, Nick Allegretti
OC: Creed Humphrey, Austin Reiter

DE: Frank Clark, George Karlaftis, Mike Danna, Joshua Kaindoh
DT: Chris Jones, Derrick Nnadi, Tershawn Wharton, Khalen Saunders, Taylor Stallworth
LB: Willie Gay, Nick Bolton, Leo Chenal, Jermaine Carter, Mike Rose (UDFA)
CB: La'Jarius Snead, Trent McDuffie, Rashad Fenton, Joshua Williams, Lonnie Johnson
S: Justin Reid, Juan Thornhill, Bryan Cook, Deon Bush, Nazeeh Johnson

K: Harrison Butker
P: Tommy Townsend
LS: James Winchester

Offense: 24
Defense: 24
STs: 3

That's 51 spots. If you bring Melvin Ingram back then you're at 52 and you've got one more spot to fill. That could be a 10th OL or you could keep a guy like Jalen Watson on the roster. That might be some overkill on the DB side.

I also think that Niang and Fortson start on the PUP list. When Fortson comes back, you can carry 4 TEs and cut a DB.

JuJu could be good at spitballing. We know Mahomes is

I like it. I think your list will be pretty close.

QB: Patrick Mahomes, Chad Henne - Was hoping for Shane Buechele, but Henne's contract rules that out.
RB: CEH, Ronald Jones, Isiah Pacheco - PS Jerrion Ealy, Tayon Fleet-Davis when CEH gets injured
FB: Michael Burton
WR: Juju Smith-Schuster, MVS, Mecole Hardman, Skyy Moore, Justyn Ross (UDFA), Justin Watson - Daurice Fountain for Ross for ST.
I hope for Ross but not going to bet that way.

TE: Travis Kelce, Blake Bell, Noah Grey
OT: Orlando Brown Jr., Darian Kinnard, Geron Christian - Maybe + Wanogho
OG: Joe Thuney, Trey Smith, Andrew Wylie, Nick Allegretti
OC: Creed Humphrey, Austin Reiter

DE: Frank Clark, George Karlaftis, Mike Danna, Joshua Kaindoh + UFA Melvin Ingram
DT: Chris Jones, Derrick Nnadi, Tershawn Wharton, Khalen Saunders, Taylor Stallworth
LB: Willie Gay, Nick Bolton, Leo Chenal, Jermaine Carter, Mike Rose (UDFA) - Rose on PS and Elijah Lee on 53
CB: La'Jarius Snead, Trent McDuffie, Rashad Fenton, Joshua Williams, Lonnie Johnson
S: Justin Reid, Juan Thornhill, Bryan Cook, Deon Bush, Nazeeh Johnson
If Jaylen Watson does well, then Lonnie Johnson might be safety with Nazeeh Johnson on practice squad
K: Harrison Butker
P: Tommy Townsend
LS: James Winchester
