They can do whatever they want. They don't give a damn about fairness or who they **** over or how much of a logistics nightmare they create. That's for everyone else who actually have to deal with it to figure out.

14 teams will make the playoffs, the ratings will come in and they'll make their money.

It would be horrendous for the people who live in the city hosting the Super Bowl there to have the rug pulled out from under them at this stage. Maybe in Glendale it's not as bad as it would be in a city with a downtown stadium, but there will be event venues booked for the Super Bowl stuff that won't be available later on, a shutdown of the area around the stadium would need to extended for another week, disruption of travel and hotel and airline schedules and availability... an incredible cluster would ensue. The league really needs to keep the same date for the Super Bowl, the rest of it isn't as important.

They could keep the same date for the SB and still move back all the playoff weeks (cancelling the Pro Bowl week instead). Seems like it would be a logistical nightmare though.

I highly doubt the Super Bowl would be in any question but everything leading up to that is probably in play. There's no easy solution but it's going to have to be something that creates a situation we've never seen before and makes things unfair for someone.
