Saw this and I almost fell over. Talk about an overpay. Wacha deal is looking better and better every day. Can’t believe Severino would wanna go pitch for that organization. I almost wonder if he knows his arm is shot and this is his last payday. I did see something about Vegas approving the new stadium deal, though it’s now gonna cost an additional $250 million. Maybe that had a little something to do with this deal?

met Al 2 summers ago at a special olympics event at the K. such a down to earth guy!! he played ball with the kiddo on the "little K" and just looked like he was having fun!! then at lunch with the athletes and Al was down eating with all the participants too! my son saw his passing on FB, said something nice and Kris Bubic "liked" my kids post.
We are truly lucky to have such a great group of guys on our Royals.

He was a bit before time as a Royals fan, but I remember listening to him a lot on the radio back in the 90's, early 2000's. Never heard anyone say a bad word about him. RIP Fitzie.

Today's moves:

Catcher Danny Jansen signs with the Rays on a one-year, $8 million deal, pitcher Shane Bieber goes back to the Guardians on a one-year contract with a player option after Tommy John surgery and reliever Clay Holmes inks a three-year, $38 million deal with the Mets to be a starting pitcher.

Royals have been awarded a competitive balance draft pick in round B at #4. The Royals are set to have the #23 pick in the 2025 draft, as well as the Bobby MVP pick sometime between round 1 and 2. This means the Royals will have 4 of the top 70 selections. Hope it’s a deep draft and we make the most of it!

Winter GM meetings officially get going on Sunday in Dallas with the draft lottery taking place Tuesday night.
