I literally reached the point where I thought they weren't going to introduce her into the show. And they introduced her EXACTLY as they did in the comics.

As far as weapons at the prison they would have access to shotguns, sniper rifles, tasers and shanks.

When does breaking bad start up again? April?

Ricktatorship.

The Governor is going to be a weird character for the TV series. Michonne might be pretty cool though.

Also, why isn't Carl dead yet? Or Lori? That ungrateful whore.

blaise 03-19-2012 05:16 AM

Lori is a dumb bitch. And Carl is a douche. So is Rick really. Why not just say, "yeah, Shane tried to kill me. I killed him," right off the bat?

And I don't even see why they had to abandon the farm. It's a wandering herd. Why not try and find somewhere to hide out for a few days and then check back to see if they've moved on?

Aries Walker 03-19-2012 06:48 AM

I'm wondering why it took so long for someone to realize that there were more zombies than they had bullets.

Or why T-Dog didn't just do a three-point turn instead of driving into the ditch.

Deberg_1990 03-19-2012 07:00 AM

Fun show. Last nights episode was great. Lori is just a poorly written character. Shes either not a very good mother or it’s a poorly written contrivance that Carl kept wandering around the farm with no supervision. Someone asked the shows writers in Talking Dead last night about why her character acted so upset when Rick told her he killed Shane. They really didn’t know how to respond. Hopefully next season they can work out the writing kinks and make Lori, T-Dawg and Carol stronger or kill them off. Also, the kid who plays Carl is a bad actor IMO, but I can cut him some slack since hes a kid.

I know. Or why they had to drive like 50 miles an hour to shoot at the zombies instead of like 20. Or why the dude in the camper didn't just drive off when Rick and Carl got on the roof. Or why they waited until they were out of gas to think about a backup. Or why they didn't have any sort of emergency escape plan. No supplied ready to go, seemingly no set meeting point, just a "They'd come here to the highway," assumption. Or why it's better to leave the vehicles and go start a fire in a little box with only one or two ways out.
They spent so much time whining to each other I guess they were too busy to prepare an escape or much of a defense plan.

Chiefnj2 03-19-2012 07:13 AM

Dude has been seconded guessed at very point of the show, everyone knew that Shane was a danger to the group but nobody had the stones to take Shane out, and then everyone is shocked and upset that Rick killed Shane?!?!

I think Rick finally got sick and tired to being the whipping boy and laid down the law, so to speak.

Hell even Daryl realized that the entire group expects Rick to make the tough choices, see the "killing" of Sophia's zombie, and told Rick that he does not need to do all the "heavy lifting" when Dale needed to be killed.

To paraphrase a line from the Talking Dead; everyone needs to get off Rick's sack.

Gonzo 03-19-2012 07:23 AM

Meh. Ricks just pissy about Lori and the Shane situation at the moment. He'll calm down and get back to his blasé style soon enough, I'm sure.

Carl needs to quit throwing out ultimatums to his dad before he gets a five fingerd facial.

blaise 03-19-2012 07:27 AM

Sometimes I think they should have a battery powered alarm clock, or an egg timer. Then they could have someone try and put it out in the woods and have it go off to draw the zombies away. Seems like they'll go toward any sound.

I know I may be overlooking things -- and they're not important when a zombie apocalypse occurs.

But, do none of these people have cellphones?

Sure, would have prevented the farm cluster****...

duncan_idaho 03-19-2012 07:31 AM

I am extremely disappointed they didn't follow through with the end of Shane from the comics.

Two major differences that would make the show more enjoyable for hardcore fans (and probably alienate the mass audiences, which is why they didn't happen):

1) Rick is MUCH more hardcore/badass in the comic. Pretty much from the day he reunites with his family, he's willing to do whatever - and screw over whomever - to make sure his survives. That type of protagonist plays OK on an HBO/Showtime series. Not so much on regular cable.

2) Carl is, too. And HE FREAKING KILLS SHANE to protect his dad.

Son and I said the same thing last night -- "Rick, the baby hasn't moved in awhile," and then all of a sudden she screams and the baby bursts through her stomach "Alien"-style.

We both agreed that's too dark for AMC. They'd never do it.

My son also said the Governor has a familial relationship in the comics that sounds way beyond what basic cable would go for.

Everlasting cell phone batteries, lol.

They couldn't have cell phones, but they basically had nothing. No flares, no mirrors to reflect sun, no flashlights. No starting of a fire so others could see the smoke. No plan at all. I didn't see any ready to go supply bags, except for the blond who had the bag of guns. Just, let's live here on the farm and pretend it'll last forever.

She's an idiot, but people do that all the time... lash out at someone when they're really pissed at themselves.

Im glad Rick finally unleashed the iron fist. Everyone looked to him for answers, and then second and third guessed him. Everyone knew Shane had gone off the deep end, and yet they want to act horrified when Rick put him down like a mad dog.

He killed Otis so he could escape, he tried to kill Rick when he wouldnt let him shoot Randall, he conspired to take over the farm with Andrea, he misled and murdered Randall and then was going to take Rick out in the field.

Rick gave this guy every chance he could. Hell, Id have left him in the bus the first time.

Darryl and Herschel seem to be happy with the new Rick, while all the whiners sit around all butthurt because Daddy raised his voice.

Lori needed to be Walker Chow, in the worst way. What a stupid bitch. Great acting job by Sarah Callies, I really do hate her character.

You have to have a cell network in order for cell phones to work. With everyone dead, and no power, what are the chances of cell phones working?

Now, walkie talkies that run on batteries, fine. I don't feel that your zombie apocalypse survival rate is very high.

Pretty much this.

You know the writers and the actress are doing their jobs when you actually can't stand a character and wish them serious chewing.

Lori being pissed at Rick when the whole thing is her fault is ridiculous. She is a total coniving, backstabbing little whore, and Andrea should have bitch slapper her back in the kitchen when she had the chance. And who lets their 10 year son wonder around a huge piece of land by himself in a zombie apocalypse? That bastard would be my shadow or his mom's shadow.

I ran this idea by /r9k/ last night; let's see if it sticks here as well as it did there.

Daryl, Rick, and Hershel bail on the group. They take Maggie because she seems rational and can probably cook/gut a deer. Glen is welcome to join.

Lori gets eaten by a bear (really, it's just zombie-John Goodman). Carl gets skullfucked by a zombie who ejaculates black hatred onto his face.

Basically, Carl is a whiny bitch and cries too much. Lori is a waste of a vagina. Maggie is worth keeping. Michonne is a hardass.
The character of the Governor is going to be weird for network TV. I doubt they'll allow rape/cutting off Rick's hand on network TV.

So, obviously Michonne is some kind of badass and a fan-boy favorite from the comics. The visual effect was incredibly awesome: the dark forest backdrop, the hooded figure, the chains running to the zombies with their arms cut off and their mouths sealed shut.

But is it explained why she has zombie pets? Other than looking cool, why would you travel with them? Seems like they would slow you down. What possible use could they serve? And why aren't they still trying to attack her? Why would they just hang out 10 feet behind her?

And please, no spoilers. I'm just curious as to whether it's actually explained in the comics.
