:hmmm: so a team that's a year removed from 2-14 and already celebrating its first winning season since 2010 has more pressure on it than the preseason favorite, led by a 37-year-old QB who's one Houston sack from retirement?

also, the donkeys need to sweep the series to regain control of the division. that's pressure.

You do realize that Peyton Manning is your quarterback, right?

Watch the Sound FX from Peyton in the Carolina game last year, he believes that if we execute the plays properly there is no way in hell we can be stopped.

I just think it's funny that you think it's all about the playoffs with a quarterback that has gone one and done 8 times iirc.

Including last year with you guys...

The Colts weren't that great of a team. The Chargers had the best roster in the NFL for 3 or 4 years when Peyton was going against them, and if he didn't run into the Chargers he had to deal with NE or Pittsburgh. I think Peyton's playoff record is over scrutinized, he lost to some really good teams in the playoffs.

One of Peyton's playoff chokes to us came against an injured Chargers team missing Rivers and LT and starting Billy Volek at quarterback. The other one was against an 8-8 Chargers team that backed into the playoffs because Denver collapsed down the stretch - you may remember Cutler pouting on the sidelines while the Chargers were whooping the Donks' asses.

Nice try, but that's just a bullshit excuse.

So, you're saying that good defenses can shut him down in the playoffs?

Yeah, I know that.

You know which defense kept your offense under 20 points last year?

The one that has 2 weeks to prepare for #neckbone

Darren Sproles killed the Colts in the game where Volek played, and Rivers played the majority of that game... Volek didn't start. Liar. And when LT went down it was kinda nice having guys like Turner and Sproles behind him.

I know nothing about the 2008 playoff game, I didn't watch a single snap of football after Denver got eliminated.

That's awesome, too bad we won that game and then beat you by 35 points the next time we played you.

Seriously? Big game Peyton and the Broncos only played one big game so far this year and that was against Indy. How did that turn out?

We had a bunch of fumbles and punts and almost overcame a 20pt deficit to win the game in the 4th quarter...

Great job beating up on a team that stopped giving a shit and hated its ****ing coach and GM with a passion.

After you collect your medal, go **** yourself with it.

It feels good to be the division leader and future division champs.

So what you are saying is that if Peyton plays playoff caliber teams in the playoffs he loses? Interesting. Hopefully if he plays his cards right he can face Jax and Oakland in the playoffs and the Bucs in the SB and he can finally prove all the doubters wrong and show he is a winner in the playoffs and not just a choke artist.

My bad, I misremembered, somehow I thought he got injured against the Titans that year, but I was actually thinking of Gates' injury. Regardless, the whole "best roster in the NFL" argument falls flat when the core of the roster was getting injured left and right.

That was the game where Sproles really killed the Colts.

Denver's d sucks ass, there is no way they win it all this year. They are a slightly better version of the 2003 Chiefs.

Not to mention Reggie Wayne.

Indy could have scored in the 40s.

You want to talk about injuries? We were missing our All Pro LT, our Pro Bowl caliber RT, our Pro Bowl caliber MLB, and our HOF corner got hurt in the first half and hasn't played or practiced since.

Hmm.

Based on last years results, guess they should have "practiced" a little harder, huh?

Our All Pro RB has been stuffing 2 blistery stumps into his cleats every Sunday this year and still tears it up.

Interesting theory.

So the argument is if bad teams made the playoffs, then Pey Pey would roll everyone?

I guess that would explain St. Peyton's career playoff record . . . .

Don't worry. I'm sure the guys filling in will be Pro Bowl "caliber" also.

Just ask KnowLess . . . .

Franklin played against Washington so he certainly will play against KC.

Interesting theory.

So the argument is if bad teams made the playoffs, then Pey Pey would roll everyone?

I guess that would explain St. Peyton's career playoff record . . . .

I'm just saying that the AFC was really strong when Peyton was in Indy. Right now NE and Denver are the only Super Bowl contenders in the AFC.

Aren't you forgetting somebody?

Or is Andrew Luck just not good enough for KnowMo?

TomBarndtsTwin 11-05-2013 01:53 AM

No, teams that the Broncos lose to aren't really Super Bowl contenders.

It wasn't what that team did, it's what the Broncos didn't do.

Which sets up for a nice excuse should the other worldly Broncos lose to the lowly Chiefs, huh?

Quesadilla Joe 11-05-2013 01:56 AM

I don't think Indy is that great. Andrew Luck is a stud but I don't see a whole lot else there.

Yeah I agree 100%. Great QB there, but the rest of the team are a bunch of soft hacks. Wait that kind of reminds me of another team......

No team in the NFL has 3 WR's and a TE that can match ours.

All of the 31 other teams in the NFL could match Denver's 3 WRs and TE if they had Peyton Manning as their QB.

We gave them the game with fumbles and great field position.

Yeah they were so lucky that they were better at fundamentally sound football on a massive scale that night. They should have all bought powerball tickets that night, the lucky pricks.

Explain how you gave the game away? They pounded Peyton forcing bad throws, fumbles, etc.

They stripped the ball like a good team does.

Honest question?

Do the Broncos EVER lose games . . . . ???

I mean, Denver gave Indy the game this year. Last year in the playoffs, Denver gave that game to Baltimore. I remember reading after the Texans game in Mile High last year, that Denver gave away that game also . . . .

Better question?

Why does Denver always seem to be in such a giving mood when the stage is brightest??

I'm sure that has NOTHING to do with your QB at all.

Just something to think about. Carry on . . . .

What in your feeble little mind makes NE a Super Bowl contender, but teams like Indy, Cincinnati, and KC are not? They have exactly one quality win against the Saints and that win was just as fluky as any of KC's wins that you and everybody else seems to be discounting.

It's not Peyton's fault. It is just because the other teams were really good. That's why Denver lost. /Knowmo.

He probably thinks this because in his mind no team is better than Denver. BUT a team led by Tom Brady and coached by Belichick routinely owns a Peyton led team so Knowmo is a little nervous about them. No one else can beat the Broncos, they can only let other teams beat them.

Actually, Peyton is 5-3 against the Pats since 2005.

Regular season or playoffs? We all know what Peyton is capable of in the regular season just like we all know what he is capable of in the post season when it actually matters.

MagicHef 11-05-2013 09:57 AM

Yeah the last 8 years is really cherry picking.

In the first 7 years of his career, Peyton was 2-10 against the Pats.
In the last 8, he's 5-3.

Just showing that "a team led by Tom Brady and coached by Belichick routinely owns a Peyton led team" may have been true a decade ago, but it isn't now.

TomBarndtsTwin 11-05-2013 10:05 AM

So Pey Pey is like a fine wine . . . . ?

Anyone wine connoisseurs here to tell us what happens when it gets chilled below a certain temperature . . . .

Pasta Little Brioni 11-05-2013 10:29 AM

So, he's 7-13 then and 0-1 as a Bronco correct? Ownage

See, that's what not cherry picking looks like.

Pasta Little Brioni 11-05-2013 10:31 AM

Andy Reid is 13-1 coming off bye weeks and 17-2 if you include Thursday games.

Soooo nice having the best coaching in the division.

Well, now that the season has resulted in a few injuries, that's true, but to start the season GB and Atl were pretty competitive.

GB: Nelson, Cobb, Jones, Finley
ATl: Jones, White, Douglas, Gonzalez

donkhater 11-05-2013 10:49 AM

As a Chief fan living in Indy for the last 15 years, let me say that when Peyton plays outside in the cold, his play definately declines. I'm not saying it will happen or that I am necessarily banking on it. But it does decline. He had to play three outdoor games to win his only Super Bowl, but that team was carried that year by the Colts defense (strangely enough) and their running game. Should he get home field advantage, he'll have to play 3 games in a row in cold weather.

Not saying he can't do it. I'm not saying KC is the team to beat them. The Broncos are a good team, I just wouldn't come anywhere close to calling it automatic.
