Russillo brought up an interesting point. It was just in passing, but he said "Can you imagine if Durant's foot was in?" with regards to the way we view Giannis. Holy balls.

Never understood why Lebron refuses to back down more like MJ did when he was getting older.

There isn’t a player in the NBA that has taken more 3 point attempts than Brooks this postseason. In the ENTIRE NBA. Like…what? I can think of 8 players on the Grizzlies I want taking more 3 point attempts than Brooks. You’re ****ing open for a reason. I’ve always said if Brooks could just look in mirror and realize what he actually is this team will finally reach its full capabilities. He’s a defender. That’s it. Not the best, but still valuable. We just need him to have a huge gut check moment on Friday and facilitate more without shooting and we can easily get a win in LA. It’s easier said than done though. Brooks will be Brooks and Jenkins obviously doesn’t care to shut it down.

Ant played his ass off in the series. Sucks that people will run with this. Just frustrations boiling over. Obviously didn’t intend any harm to anyone and from what I see in the video doesn’t really cause much to anyone luckily.

Butler was good but he didn't look like the monster he currently is in Miami while he was a 76er.

Maybe as others have pointed out, he has to be the undisputed team leader to turn it on like that or there were whatever other team chemistry problems.

Can you imagine if Durant didn't start joining super teams? How would he still be viewed if he remained in OKC with Westbrook?

I respect Giannis more than probably any player in the NBA. He doesn't believe in playing Madden on the easiest difficulty level, even if it means he doesn't win four or five titles.

He's probably playing hurt on that foot but he's legitimately fatigued playing in this series in a way he's really never been before.

Maybe I am wrong but I would think posting up would take far less energy than running around on the perimeter. If he is struggling with fatigue now it isn't going to get any better if he has to chase GS\Kings around the court.

To me he should be doing that more rather than chucking 3's.

agreed. He has Westbrook syndrome and if Kennard isn't hurt I bet he takes his place in the next game. They need his spacing in the worst way and I didn't understand their rotations at the end of game 4 with 4 non shooters on the court.

Did you watch yesterday's game? LeBron isn't running around on the perimeter, he's standing around on the perimeter and letting Austin Reaves and others handle the ball (which he did for large portions of game 4 as well). This is unlike anything we've ever seen from him in the NBA, which suggests it's an extreme level of fatigue he's dealing with. He's not going to be able to physically battle somebody in the post in his current state.

And yes, there's very little chance the Lakers are going to beat the Warriors even if they advance this series and a lot of that is because of how just tired and limited LeBron appears. The guy is almost 40 and playing on a bad foot. It's catching up to him.

That's hard to believe considering Jayson Tatum is playing in these playoff also. The king of the mindless step back three.

Fair enough and that is true. I just think it would be wise for him to post up more than chuck 3's. He has never been that great of jump shooter.

According to the Basketball Reference Shot Finder (“Shot Finder”), Lebron is a career 37% shooter on jump shots between 15-20 feet.

Kobe is hoping all his stats would have went down in the chopper with him.

-Value Over Replacement Player (VORP): Of the top 250 highest VORP seasons, Kobe holds #84, #118, and #154. MJ dominates this stat with the 2 best 3 seasons of all time.

-Box Plus/Minus (BPM): Lebron has 5 of the top 10 best seasons, including the #1 spot. Kobe's best comes in at #155. Even lesser greats like Tmac, KG, and David Robinson all have seasons in the top 30.

-Win Shares per 48: Kareem had 3 of the top 5 greatest win share seasons of all time. Lesser greats like Chris Paul, Dirk, Wade, and Barkley managed to make the top 50. Kobe doesn't have a season in the top 200.

-True Shooting Percentage (TS%): This stat is dominated by bigs; however wing players such as Lebron, Harden, Curry, and Magic have all made the top 50. Kobe doesn't a season in the top 250.

-Player Efficiency Rating (PER): This stat is basically a box score aggregate that tends to favor bigs and volume scorers, so it's no surprise that Wilt and Jordan have 4 of the top 5 best seasons. Kobe Bryant's historic 2006 season comes in at #59.

It’s really not surprising seeing one of Kobe’s mistresses downplay the value of statistics.

POND_OF_RED 04-29-2023 01:38 AM

Was definitely a tough matchup with no Adams or BC. Still a lot of great things to build off and I’d say the Grizzlies are still setup for the most sustained success in the west so I’m not too worried about the current state of the franchise. Jackson becoming an elite post player this season and not just hanging out at the 3 point line should produce even better seasons from him going forward. Bane improved tremendously at driving to the basket this season and not just a 3 point specialist. Ja is still Ja. The most incredible athlete in the league that is must watch TV on a nightly basis. Can’t wait to see how much he improves in the off-season after the roller coaster of a season he had this year. He should be pretty motivated next season.

The best part is that our only free agent is Dillon ****ing Brooks. They simply just can’t bring him back after this playoff performance. That’s 2 years in a row that he’s cost us by trying to be something he’s not in the postseason. I think the Grizzlies should obviously let him walk and try and find another solid defender who knows his role within the team.

Fun season. Excited for the next one. The future is still very bright in Memphis.

That is the bitter sweet thing about having him on my squad. I only watched the first half of GS-SK and I could tell the Kings were going to win the game. GS looked tired and flat. I don't give them much chance to win in Sacramento considering their road woes this year.

Congrats to the Laker fans, the next series should be really fun regardless of the opponent.

Because they beat Lebron at his own game.

What a cry baby pussy you are.

Just stating the facts. Their franchise is a disgrace and it will be a welcome sight when their fraudulent dynasty finally comes to an end.

They roster and make excuses for an idiot who stomps on players, kicks players in the balls, and punches teammates. And if that isn't enough, they ruined the league for a few years by crying to the 2nd best player in the world to come join a 73 win team.

Disgrace to the game.

Bizarre stuff from the Kings. Pathetic.

Mike Brown has been a clown as a HC for almost two decades.

time to turn into a lebron fan for the next 2 weeks

Agreed. I expected nothing less here. The fact it even got to 7 games reflects on just how poorly the Warriors played in this series.

Have to imagine the Lakers are going to be implementing a lot more traps and doubles on Curry in the next series.

lol. GSW is a model franchise. They drafted all their stars, won multiple championships and they basically fund the other teams like your loser Raptors.

Golden State funds the Raptors? LMAO

You don't have any idea who owns the Raptors, do you?

NBA players screwed themselves by not agreeing to cap smoothing, which led to the one year spike, which allowed the Warriors to sign Durant, which then also led to Wiggins.

Might be the worst game 7 coaching job we’ve seen in a while.

Game 7 and you leave a defensive stopper on the bench while curry cooks his replacement for 50. So you can play… Terrence Davis? Wouldn’t even give Len a shot to try to get a little bit of a rebounding edge.

I thought mike brown was turning things around. But just a terrible job today.

LeBron’s own game involved crying to the 2nd best player in the world to join a 73 win team after losing in the Finals? Must have missed that.

Barrett and Terence Davis had probably the two worst second halves of the entire playoffs. And this all occurred within hours of each other.

Nobody else on the Warriors could even shoot all game. No clue what the defensive strategy was there. They could have even done box-and-one like the Raptors did in 2019 to Steph and it would have made a lot more sense than what they did tonight.

And you’re absolutely right that if you’re not rolling with Davion Mitchell at least throw the double team.

Just letting one of the best offensive players ever just go off on you 1 on 1 with no adjustments at all was certainly a choice.

Save basketball from what? A great TEAM such as the Warriors?

There’s nothing great about the Warriors other than Steph Curry (who is a notorious front runner himself as well). Basketball needs saving again and LeBron has a chance to help do it one more time.
