I still think of my ex. We were together for 7 years and its only been about a year. Don't want to be back with her but I still have plenty of feelings for her still. Hopefully it will eventually fade away.

Apparently this happens with women.

I have an ex who says she has thought about me once a week for 10 years while having 3-4 serious relationships during that time and another who says it's once a month for the last 8 years while being married during that time.

I think it's a people thing.

You're mind never stops working. You can literally have thousands of separate thoughts in a 24 hour period. I don't think it's odd that you might think about someone that was a large part of your life in one of them.

Great point and great explanation. I am also thinking about past relationships too much but this just makes me realize that it isn't something I should look too much into.

I think you should.

Long story short I dated a girl in high school and dumped her because it was really getting serious and I wasn't ready for that. Years later I regretted it. As you get older you learn how rare good people are.

A few times I've had dreams of this girl (that I haven't talked to in 20 years) and it's always been at some pivotal time in my life.

It's not really about that person - it's about a part of my brain telling me to make sure I've really thought this (whatever) situation out and made the right decision...
