I just didn't want them to win in South Africa specifically. But I didn't dislike the team itself. Now I do.

I could keep going on. Everyone thought they were pure thugs, especially in the first 45'.

Yeah, I know the ****tard policeman was giving away yellow cards like it was candy, sometimes without even seeing the play. He was also somehow missing obvious calls ****ing over Netherlands in the process. That's not the point.

I was pointing more towards how both articles said the Dutch were far worse offenders, and Spain deserved the victory as justice. I just tried to look up as many reactions as I could and no one defended the Dutch. Even Ruud Gullit couldn't muster the anger to defend them and he's ****ing Dutch.

Well I don't have any estrella or Mahou beer so I'm drinking Presidente to celebrate!

Yeah, the Dutch were worse offenders. Like I said, late challenges are going to happen when you actually try to pressure a unique team like Spain. When people pressured the Dutch and committed fouls against them during group stage, the Dutch were labeled diving pussies. That's what happens when you play possession soccer. You have 2 choices against Spain, do what Portugal and Germany did or do what the Netherlands did. Unfortunately, some fouls are committed in the process of active pressure. What De Jong and to an extent Van Bommel did is inexcusable, I agree. But to label the Dutch as dirty is just ****ing stupid.

What a weird ****ing way to root against a team.

I am a huge fan of the Dutch and had them as my third favorite team ... until this game.. Robben is a worthless whiny bitch.

If you HONESTLY think the Dutch didn't play dirty, thuggish soccer for the first 45 minutes then you are blind.

Really doesn't matter because in the end... the better team won. That's all that matters.

They are a chippy team but not USUALLY dirty... they were dirty today. (at least for half the match)

I label de Jong and van Bommel dirty. I like Sneijder quite a bit, and RvP obviously. But those two are pure thugs, and they prove that consistently. You keep saying how these decisions could have changed everything for the Dutch, but they should have been playing with 10 men from the 35ish minute on.

As an Arsenal fan, I'm well used to other teams trying to kick you off the field. I'm sure Barcelona and it's fans are too. Any time you play a possession and passing game, you're going to get teams that try to kick you to slow down the game. That's one way to play, but it normally makes for miserable soccer and it did in this case. No reason to defend it. The Dutch have had some incredible teams in the past, but this wasn't one of them. Legends they are not.

:shake:

Van Bommel and De Jong are chippy. Van Bommel and De Jong are not the whole team.
