Does anybody else see a trend here? 11 - Alex Smith, 22 - Marcus Peters. Is double nickels 55 - Dee Ford next?

Meh, the Chiefs aren't holding a press conference for moves that aren't even official yet.

He is a very high end sports car that is barely still under warranty that has intermittent electrical problems that the warranty does not cover. Get what you can for it while there is a willing buyer and move on.

A couple of thoughts after reading Peter King and other discuss compensation a bit.
1. From the sounds of it the Chiefs are not getting the Ram's first rounder this year. So probably a 3 and 5 in this draft. 2. Chiefs probably getting a 1 or 2 in next years draft. This sort of deal makes a ton of sense from the Chiefs perspective as the team probably values having two #1 picks next season (lets say its ours at #13 and the Rams at #27) than getting their pick this year. Gives the Chiefs four second and third round picks to add a ton of depth which this team really needs. Then in 2019 you can got out an traft a couple studs to build out the defense. 1. The timeline works better 2. Helps the Chiefs manage the cap longer - more players on rookie deals. Allows us to keep our young talent in place. |
