It's good that an athlete of LeBron's stature actually points that fact out. MJ, with the only care in his world ever being his financial bottomline, has never and would never.

Now you're changing the language.

Around 9-12 unarmed black men are killed a year by cops, some of which are still justified becuase the "unarmed" person is reaching for a cop's gun or something similar.

And black people aren't killed by police anywhere close to the rate you would expect when looking at violent crime statistics.

One thing is for sure, to claim they're being "hunted" is an absolute LIE.

What rate would he expect?

Oof. Just looked into the full context. Yeah, that's INCREDIBLY ****ed that LeBron didn't take accountability for his post.

It's objectively worse than anything MJ has ever done and that's the point, even if MJ didn't "speak up" on issues.

Something closer to the rate at which they commit violent crime.

Violent criminals are more likely to get shot by cops, do you not agree?

You seemed to be suggesting a particular rate, which is why I asked.

No, but the "disproportionate" rate of them getting shot by cops is somewhere around 25%, while they commit violent crime at a "disproportionate" rate of around 50%.

I'm simply saying that 25% actually seems like less than you'd expect considering the disproportionate rate of violent crime.

It's just context that people like to ignore when they talk about black people being "disproportionately" shot by cops.

LeBron saw something that was being spread on Twitter that was untrue, got emotional and posted about it, and deleted it once he realized it was untrue. It was a mistake that he was likely embarrassed about and a very human thing to do.

MJ would never show such character or humanity.

You pretending that he had no obligation to apologize to the hero cop that he tried to demonize is pathetic.

You can't even be objective about Lebron's actions off the court.

You're on an entirely different level of dick rider.

he deleted it because he was being ratio'd into the sun on account of being a faux intellectual shitheel.

He's a great basketball player and an absolute fraud of a human being.

Bet you can't find LeBron doing this.

Which makes him LESS of a prick than James, who takes his stances for clout and little else.

But he reads book jackets like a champ.

Sassy Squatch 05-24-2023 01:25 PM

Yeah, that tweet of his trying to explain it away is pretty lame given the context that the original was just a picture of the cop with #YoureNext.
