At least do the due diligence and open up dialogue about Mathieu.

looks like (unless the rules changed again) that players on IR can still be traded
Under Article XVII, Section 17.16, clubs were previously not allowed to trade players who were on injured reserve. That rule has been reversed, thanks to a proposal from general manager John Elway and Co. came from a broncos site so it could be wrong as hell https://broncoswire.usatoday.com/201...jured-reserve/ |

I guess now we are going to have to accept the fact that this season will turn on the defense that Reid and Veach decided to go into the season with, and the guys they drafted knowing the defense was a huge need...
|
Eh. Looking at his contract on Sportrac we'd probably need to make it a bit more worth their while to trade him.

The only possible way I can see the Chiefs doing is post 6/1 Berry for 2019. Post-6/1 Release 2019 Dead Cap: $6,950,000 2020 Dead Cap: $8,000,000 2019 Cap Savings: $9,550,000 The 2020 dead cap is still a killer though. But it could be offset by the rollover and the overall cap # increase. |
