Brady has never won a Super Bowl without an elite defense. It doesn't get talked about enough. Mahomes won it with an average defense, nearly beat NE with a terrible defense. That's how you get by with a game managing QB with JAG WR's. Elite defense and running game.

I see DRob more as a safety net rather than a long term #3 WR. Yeah, "he knows the system" but I'm not buying the myth that it takes 3 years to learn it. Go where PMII tells you, look for the ball, catch the ball and hold it close like your girlfriend or puppy, run forward. How hard is that? If Fountain/Kemp/Powell/Pringle can do that, DRob can go. I almost gave my son-in-law a heart attack last week when I screamed at the TV "Run forward" at DRob.

I don't think anybody is defending DRob. Dude drives me crazy, but he's not getting cut, not even close to being cut. I like Fountain and Fortson and hope there's a way we get them on the roster, one of those is cutting Powell and hope he makes it to the PS. If he truly looks as unimpressive as he has in preseason, then we need to cut bait and hope he can develop this season on the PS. I don't think he will be picked up, if so, so be it.

This is fun though, we are arguing about the bottom of the roster with reasonable options. Tough cuts are a sign of a very very good roster, and we have one...

I think it's just people considering how we further improve. Agree it's a blessed position to be focused on the need to replace a WR3, but most people know that. If Hardman steps up and/or the committee approach works fine, grand.

DRob doesn't constantly run the wrong route or not look for the ball when it's being thrown to him. He's also a better blocker than Hardman.

Hardman has a long ways to go to steal that spot from DRob.

He can't be awesome on 20 snaps a year and then total shit the rest of the time.

DRob is a much more consistent player with a lower ceiling for what he can give the team. But his floor is a lot higher.

I bet he ends up playing more snaps than Hardman.

Brady is a fraud. His greatness is based on results only. Bill cheated him to 3 and the kicker actually won the 3 games because Brady couldn't get enough points. That's not greatness. He must have an elite OL, defense and running game to win anything. he has zero play maker ability.
