I agree with that. Which is why I'm all for eliminating an at-large bid. The winner is going to come out of the top 10-12 teams, at best, usually. And I think the play-in game is stupid. Bring it back to 64, put everyone in the "real" tournament, reward those teams who won the little conferences with an extra game. And then every year or two one of those teams makes a run and everybody gets excited about the underdog.

That's far more interesting than letting in Penn State or Arizona, somebody who rigged their non-conference with all home games or weak sisters, then barely stayed afloat in a weak conference.

OU+BG=BS

You are an "at-large" if you do not win your conference championship, dufus!

Mr. Flopnuts 03-15-2009 05:39 PM

I hope it comes down to MU vs. UW

'Hamas' Jenkins 03-15-2009 05:39 PM

****. We're getting slurped by asshats.

eazyb81 03-15-2009 05:39 PM

It's possible, UConn has bad games like anybody else.

That's ridiculous. A regular season record is much more important than winning a 4 day tourney, dufus. Seems back asswards to me.

There is so muck parity anymore, it's getting to the point where anybody can kick ya in the nuts.

The day is coming when a # 1 goes down on the 1st night. Not this year, but it is coming.

There have been close calls several times. It will happen someday. Could happen this year.

North Carolina has the easiest bracket. How does that happen ?

I don't think so... Louisville has the weakest #2, IMO, and UNC has #3 Syracuse while Louisville has #3 Kansas. Louisville probably has the tougher #4 and #6.

I'd like to see Hansflop go up against Blair and Pitt. LMAO

Well, that is the nomenclature that they prefer. A regular season championship means nothing to the selection committee - other than the wins you racked up while winning it. If a mid-major or low-major wins their conference championship but does not win the conference tournament, they may be left out of the NCAA tournament, not the other way around. Therefore, KU and OU are at-large, and MU is the Big XII automatic bid.

This is the true test for the NCAA championship tournament. Good post.

Dude, you guys are BONED. :D

I said Sweet 16 all season, WVU will be a very tough challenge for KU to get there. Winning and getting a rematch with Michigan State would be tough. At least we know something of them, WVU we do not.
