That's the key.

We've kept him and thus it's a whole new day.

He is.

But it's Frank, so it's impossible to hate on him.

I was out there on friday, and I don't know about the "old" part of the stadium, but in the outfield stands there was people waiting in line for atleast 1/2 hour for a hot dog

Basically the royals are telling him to man up and fight the pain and pitch. I guess they've checked him out and it can't do any damage or it isnt in a damaging spot, but i guess Soria in a way has never had a nagging injury and prefered the royals almost coddle him to not pitch. Not saying he's a panzy which i doubt, but i think they are telling him that pain is part of the game and you can get through it. Interesting story relating to his injury or the reasons he hasn't came in. It's as if Soria has kept himself out and thats why he's not on the DL. The royals are trying to tell him pain is part of the game, its just a bit of tightness in a weird spot.

Yeah, if you're going to be a major league pitcher, you have to be ready to pitch with some pain.

It's far more likely that they hit bad pitchers (Purcey and Tallet) and struggle against better ones.

tallet has a career 3.45 ERA, douche.

2 offseasons ago, the Jays nearly got Brian Sabean (i.e. the stupidest GM in sports) to give us Lincecum for Alex Rios. It took him a week to decide, but finally after the fans basically protested, he declined. We would have had Halladay, Lincecum, Burnett, McGowan, and Marcum....

Of course, all of that has gone to total shit now.

That's an All-Star rotation, not one on a real team...

Tallet is a long reliever, you idiot. He failed as a starter earlier in his career, and was driven to long relief for the Jays until 5 of their starters got hurt. He isn't very good.

so since he is a long reliever, that means he isn't good? even though his numbers would indicate otherwise?

ok...

The funny thing is...they still wouldn't have made the playoffs. Not with Shannon Stewart, Brad Wilkerson, Kevin Mench, Matt Stairs, and David Eckstein taking up the DH at bats.

JP Ricciardi can be a good GM sometimes (picking up random journeymen like Downs and turning them into ace relievers), but he can be such a ****ing bonehead, too (Adam Dunn comments, not signing a league average hitter last year to be a DH, or even Brian Burres making the start tomorrow).

You do realize that there is a significant difference between succeeding as a middle reliever and succeeding as a starter, right?

Tallet isn't a good starting pitcher, that's why he moved to the pen. He's just making emergency starts for the Jays right now because they have 5 injured pitchers.

ok, fine. that does not mean he is a bad pitcher. that means he is a better reliever than a starter.

He'll have a bad game at some point, sure... but I don't think it'll hurt his confidence. Not at this point...

I don't think he feels pressure at all on the mound. It's actually why I thought he might continue this streak and it's pretty crazy, but he's special that way.

All it means is that he is good in short spurts for an inning or two (and there is some value in that). Being a starter is far more difficult, and he has proven that he's not up to this task throughout his career.

I still have no idea why you called me a douche. I haven't bashed the Royals at all.
