In looking through the list with the updates, it appears a Wild Card round is no longer necessary. We have 32 nominees with at least +2 and no remaining spots for the +1's to compete for.

BTW, we can do a random draw of those with the equal amount of +'s. I just did it based on when I had noticed each person reaching that number.

I backed out of this. I like the idea, but I think anyone that's been nominated and then seconded should have the opportunity to be voted for.

The rules state in the opening thread.
**Edit** Once a nomination is seconded; that's good enough. I don't have time to track how many times one particular poster is nominated.

Maybe some poster didn't nominate another because the rule states its not neccessary once nominated.

Guys I like the idea, I like the setup but use that tournmaent for the top 32 after the initial vote. You can't have people nominated and a +1 and no one even gets to vote for them. We can't change the rules in the middle of a nomination process. That gets us in trouble and can possibly create some bad fellings over something thats suppose to be entertainment.

We can only do 50 in a poll. If it goes over that we can always take the top nominations and bump them into the tournament round. Or we can go over 32 and have byes that get into the 2nd round automatically. I love the tournament concept and would like to see it get worked out. It'll be fun.

I agree with the concept, should be a lot of fun. I love the passion and thinking outside the box stuff. Run with it, do what you think is best. Just make sure everyone that got a +1 gets a chance to be voted on by whoever voted for them. The mere apperance of shennigans or some vote not being counted can ruin the whole fun and entertainment point of the academy.

The mechanics of it are not hard to do.....If we have a 50 person limit in the poll, just pass out some byes to the top vote getters to get down to your initial 50. Say the top finishers go on to the next round of 32 and use what you have already built.

This is Gonzo's baby, but yeah. I'm with you 100%. We said anyone with a nomination and someone to second it would be in the running. And let's face it, this is already so flawed with some major contributors to this board lacking that it's all entertainment value anyways. Let's draw it out a bit.

I've been out tonight and just getting caught up. I hope I didn't come off as an ass for taking off with the tournament idea, seedings, etc. You could, as was just said, put everyone in the original poll (the top 50), and then take the top 8 or 16 and start a playoff from there. Then everyone who got a +1 gets a chance, and you still get the tournament.

Again, however I can help I am willing.
