I'm just saying I don't know. And without sufficient evidence, that's the only rational perspective to take.

Where are these interviews? Can we read/hear them? Are there any direct statements from anybody at all that the public can see?

What a load of shit that is. There's nothing conclusive about that video at all and most people here have commented on how difficult it is to actually hear what was said. You'd have to be being pretty disingenuous to deny it.

Any PR professional would tell you that there is no benefit to Smart/Ford saying something like that during a public apology designed solely to protect/rebuild his public image. There's nothing to be gained from his perspective by getting in a fight through the media with a fan and prolonging the cycle of this.

JFC. The school said they interviewed all media that was on that baseline and fans in the area. Don't you think if a member of the media that was on the baseline heard the school announce there were interviews and there weren't that they would say something? You can clearly hear "piece of crap" on the video. Listen to it with headphones on. It's clear as day.

Smart doesn't have to get into a fight through the media. All he would have had to say was "I thought I heard a racial slur and I reacted poorly". He didn't/couldn't say that because it isn't true. He's hoping this will go away before people start asking him the tough questions like "do you feel bad for painting a man as a racist to try to cover up your bad behavior."

Suspended 3 games. Clearly even his own school isn't buying it either.

No, just actual evidence. That'd be nice.

Yep, Smart came up with this diabolical plan only seconds after reacting to the asshole's comment. Sounds reasonable.

I heard the tape and believe the eye witness accounts as described on the radio today, and what you call a diabolical plan is simply called a lie to cover your butt to most people.

At this point anyone still believing Smarts version has an agenda. Racism exists all over, it just not here, no matter how much you want it to be.

Actually there is racism here by Smart in playing the race card. That is the only racism involved in the incident

Yep. For the record, I think Orr is a ****ing dumb mother****er. He's just not a racist dumb mother****er at least in this instance.

Who are these media and fans? Specifics, please.

And no, if they can't be certain what they heard (which wouldn't be surprising by the inconclusive video where you can't exactly hear much of anything), I wouldn't expect anybody to take that kind of a stand.

I have. Multiple times. There's nothing that's clear about that video and anybody being remotely reasonable is capable of admitting that.

And you're basing that on exactly nothing. What we do know is that there is no benefit on his end by extending this further and turning this into a race issue through the media.

It's good to know that we've got somebody living in Marcus Smart's head here.

So your assertion is that he came up with this devious lie immediately within seconds of pushing the fan? Got it. And I'm the one pushing agendas here. LMAO

I don't necessarily believe any version right now because there's no evidence either way. It's a completely he said/he said situation. And at this point, that is really the only position that a rational person without an agenda can take.

You can't resort to violence over insults, no matter how awful they are. Obviously they were going to suspend him and rightfully so. Have no idea what that's supposed to prove.

And I know you will say, oh well I don't believe them. Look, if ANY of these witnesses disagreed with the Texas Tech investigation, don't you think they would let it be known? To ESPN? To other outlets of the media? I can tell you if I was in their shoes, I'd want my story told on ESPN and EVERYONE that would listen if I could confirm that he called him the N-Word. I'd be on the phone right now negotiating with ESPN what payment I would accept to go on TV and tell my account of the incident. I'd be a quasi celebrity for a few weeks. If anything, ANYTHING, someone would be tempted to lie about it and say he did call him that despite the other fans collaboration AND video AND audio footage.

ROFL @ the fact you believe ****ing anything that comes from the sand aggies as objective. Biggest piece of shit school and fans ever.

3 games? Yeah, sure. He's being punished for being a bad liar as much as anything. What is your big stake in defending this tard?

LoneWolf 02-10-2014 08:33 PM

If Tech had come out and said "we interviewed all media members in the area and fans around the incident and they all said Orr called Smart the N-word", KC Connection would be all over this. It would be nothing but "see, Orr is a racist and should be banned from all future Tech games."

Because it is the other way, he needs a list of names of the people interviewed, what they said, an IMAX quality video, and a recant of his statement by Smart. I'm convinced he is related to Smart or gunning to be his agent.

No, he's being punished for pushing a fan. And there was no precedent for that in college basketball, as far as I know. Why is the 3 games a surprise there? Why does it mean anything with regard to this?
