Looks great on the PS4, can definitely see the difference... basically like I'm watching cable.

If only I can get it working on my laptop so I can get 3 or 4 more games on at a time...

I'm hoping that my workaround for blackouts works in 40 minutes...

Also, jury sided with Varlamov. His ex now owes him $126k. Good riddance.

So yeah, this rollout of NHL.tv has been awful. The support forum is a blood bath.

Hope they get their shit figured out quickly. I have no idea why they did this in the middle of the season rather than waiting until they could roll it out during preseason games or something.

Yeah, it started out well on the PS4, but I never got to watch the Avalanche game, and the other streams stopped loading around the same time. I got rid of the Flash error on my laptop, but never got past the spinning circle.

I'm guessing they gain a decent number of subscribers this time of year, but that's still not a good reason to do it now versus working out the kinks during the preseason/early October games.

Wideman suspended 20 games.

I feel like the NHL is covering their concussion spotters and cratering to the Officials Union.

The NHLOA was making noise about being pissed if a harsh suspension wasn't doled out and if the NHL only gave him 10, they'd essentially be accepting his 'woozy' argument and would have to answer for the fact that they let him go back out there despite the concussion protocols.

I think it's bullshit, truth be told. There's no way you can convince me a guy like Wideman was deliberately looking to blast a linesman.

I generally agree, but the precedent of "if you're woozy, you can blast an official and get away with it" doesn't work either.

I probably would have voted for 10 games rather than 20, but I can't blame them for doing it.

How 'bout "if you're woozy, have no history of trouble with the league and no discernible motive to blast an official, then if hit one, we'll take your word for it..."?

New World Order 02-03-2016 05:32 PM

I recently started skating to prepare for rec hockey (as I have no idea how to skate). I've decided to start following hockey, but not sure who would be a good team to root for. I'm guessing the majority in here are pulling for the Blues?

There was a motive. He'd just been boarded hard with no call.

Aside from that, I still have no issue with it just because of the precedent. If you're so woozy that you can't tell a ref from a player, you shouldn't be playing the rest of the game.

Bearcat 02-03-2016 05:42 PM

I don't think I've been that woozy before, and if so, there wasn't a ref around to crosscheck in the back... seriously though, I can see the point that if he was that disoriented, it's harder to make the woozy argument if he went right back into the game on the next shift (if that happened).

Pretty mixed bag, really. Blues are probably the most common team, but I'd bet we've got representation from half of the league.

Where do you live? Your life will be a lot easier if you can at least find a team that will be on locally most of the time.

DJ's left nut 02-03-2016 05:48 PM

Do not root for the Blues.

You'll thank me for it later.
