By looking at the cuts they're taking, it looks like the Astros actually measured the 3rd base line and know how short it is.

Despite the chicken little stuff and all the "it's not in the cards this year"/"they've been playing like this for a month and a half," the late innings yesterday and the past few innings are really the only time I've started to get annoyed/discouraged. Not putting Dyson in after Rios' walk yesterday, Zobrist's bunt, whatever the hell Cain was doing on that hanging slider, and then several of these at bats today.

People can say it's been like this for a while all they want, but I don't think that's true.... not to this level.

And that's not to say they can't win this game, of course, but it's a bit more annoying than "that's baseball" at this point.

At best McCullers only makes it through 6 at this point. He took an inning too long to spot his fastball so his pitch count got away from him.

And man, the parade of mediocre relievers the Royals will get to face after McCullers comes out has got to get them salivating.

Ventura is doing an absolutely baller job today. If you can get this game to the bullpens tied, you have to see that as a huge HUGE victory.
