here, i'll make it easy for ya. here's next weeks sched. just pick the winner, straight up. which team is supposed to win according to the script or is going to get the benefit of bad officiating? (all times are eastern, ya damn hillbillies.)

New Orleans at Atlanta, 1 p.m.
Pittsburgh at Baltimore, 1 p.m.
New York Jets at Buffalo, 1 p.m.
Cincinnati at Cleveland, 1 p.m.
Green Bay at Detroit, 1 p.m.
Tennessee at Houston, 1 p.m.
Indianapolis at Jacksonville, 1 p.m.
New England at Miami, 1 p.m.
Chicago at Minnesota, 1 p.m.
Washington at New York Giants, 1 p.m.
Dallas at Philadelphia, 1 p.m.
Carolina at Tampa Bay, 1 p.m.
Seattle at Arizona, 4:25 p.m.
Kansas City at Denver, 4:25 p.m.
San Francisco at Los Angeles Rams, 4:25 p.m.
Los Angeles Chargers at Las Vegas, 4:25 p.m.

Just like you can predict all the outcomes of wrestling matches too right?

It's not that simple.

If they wanted week 18 games to matter, they've succeeded.

KC won't rest their starters in case TEN stumbles.

Raiders/Chargers is for a wild card spot.

Dallas at Philly matters somehow to someone.

Rams will beat the 9ers.

GB beats DET.

I don’t think the winners are necessarily chosen in advance, but I can absolutely see why the league would have a vested interest in preventing blowouts and keeping these games close.

The "eye in the sky" ref should be able to overrule calls made against a player who is being fouled worse by the same player at the same time.

Do you know the plot beforehand when you go to watch a movie?

It makes sense..the vast majority of NFL money is tv money, you need ratings to continue to be high and even show growth to keep getting raises for your product.

We stuffed them 4 straight plays from the 1. What did we get for our effort? A flag to offset their own flag and the no call false start. We were not allowed to win. 6 of thier drives were kept going from flags.

BlackOp 01-02-2022 07:33 PM

The good news is that, obviously, whomever NFL corporate and their Vegas masters wants to win, will win. For post-season/SB ratings that has to give Mahomes the advantage.

This whole season was about cashing in on "unlikely" losses, keeping most teams within a game of each other...and last second wins.

The really rubbed in the fact of how stupid they think the average NFL fan is...

They always sold how "parity" is great for the NFL...no...manufactured parity is a great cover story for massaging point spreads and ratings.

I do give the NFL props for creating their own propaganda network...then filling it with apologists.

Announcers are straight up told not to questions the officiating too deeply...

This has been the worst NFL season of my lifetime...I cant take any of it serious. I enjoy the entertainment of watching KC...but really was only mad for about 30 seconds....and that anger was more about how disinterested I am with this new Vegas-NFL partnership....which is not "new"...but it being brazenly out in the open is.

I was curious how this was going to play out...and now have my answer.

I think it was 2 years ago but it was obvious the NFL sent memos to all the networks that have their games to stop shit talking officiating.
Because all those channels did a 180 on the way they covered stuff.

RunKC 01-02-2022 07:41 PM

Remember the Raiders game like 6 years ago where they had about 10 tries from inside the 5 to win due to flags?

Yeah this game felt like that

yeah that's kind of where I am and I don't think every or even most games are influenced, but I can easily see how this might happen

The Packers have gotten hosed a bunch of times in the Rodgers era...in playoff games.
