With the 78th overall pick the Cleveland Browns select Quay Walker, LB, Georgia

Numbers game.

So many fast athletic LBs in this draft. Several are going to get pushed into the 3rd.

100% agree that some good talent at the position will fall and that I think different teams will have a wide variation in their rankings of said LBs. This class is pretty deep. There are another 2 LBs left on the board that I happily would have taken in this spot… and more quality fall back options later.

Though I would argue that collectively this group of LBs will go a bit higher than they are here. I think as a group (myself very much included) we have over represented/drafted a few positions so far which has pushed some guys down that I personally don’t think will fall this far. Typically the 6th true LB is off the board by the middle of the second round (~pick 50) and this has been true at least the last 10-15 years.

This draft class with the first wave of COVID Super Seniors from college is so darn unique though. It’s unprecedented and I don’t think for a minute that I, any of you, any media draft experts, or even any GMs can accurately predict how the cards will this year. I’m definitely talking out my ass!

I don’t know that I’ve ever seen such varying opinions/analysis on the top 10 let alone the rest of rounds 1-3. What it lacks in star power it makes up for in depth.

With the 79th pick the Los Angeles Chargers select, Derion Kendrick, CB, Georgia

Just posting because I teased Tampa about this yesterday…

I was reviewing recent mocks yesterday on the NFL mock draft database, and the latest from Walter Football had the Chiefs selecting a G (Salyer from UGA).

In the second round.

Hilarious that a guy who gets paid to do that for a living would make that blind of a pick.

Buffalo Bills Select: Isaiah Spiller, RB, Texas A&M

NY Giants select Mario Goodrich, Cornerback, Clemson.

Giants look to add coverage for the scheme Wink Martindale wishes to employ.

The Indianapolis Colts select Alec Pierce, WR, Cincinnati

A tool for the Colts new QB. Pierce can fly down the field and his catch radius is superb. 'F it, Pierce is down there somewhere' is a nice play to have sometimes.

The Philadelphia Eagles select Nick Cross, S, Maryland

I presume we'll pause and wait in the event we get to the end of the 3rd without comp picks announced? Is that also why the Poles pick isn't noted on the board?

First off, what the **** is the NFL doing? They’ve never taken this long to announce comp picks.

But to answer your question, I’ve even wondering what we should do for a while, and that’s probably the best option. And yea, I left it out because I was waiting for the official announcement.

You would think they’d announce it before the official start to the league year.

We're cruising. I would take a break at the end and wait until comp picks are announced. Plus it gives us more time to deal with trades that come up.

Sounds like a plan.

While we’re waiting, my Eagles draft so far:

1. Jermaine Johnson
1. Jameson Williams
1. Trent McDuffie
2. Christian Harris
3. Nick Cross

What a haul, specifically defensively.
