I'd be willing to put significant money on the over being far more likely than the under. The Chiefs don't typically come out and publicly swipe at players and agents after negotiations. The fact that they even did in the first place speaks volumes to how sour of a taste was left in their mouth.

After the Tyreek saga I have to agree with Superturtle here. The reports were he wanted $25 million and more gaurantees.

the problem is Orlando hired a noob and he did it on June 2nd when the deadline was like 5 weeks away.

I have no doubt that Veach has spoken to this agent and has tried to get a feel for what they can work out.

I’m sure Clark Hunt doesn’t mind giving him a $40 million signing bonus compared to the $38 million offered last year, but Orlando wanting full guarantees from signing beyond and a $25 million average when the highest avg is currently $23.15 million is nuts.

I could absolutely see Burt ship his ass off if he won’t budge on that

Why would we act like Niang can be depended on for anything? He's spent almost his entire professional career in the ice bath.

I don't disagree with that.

This. If Veach's plan is to roll with Niang at RT and a rookie at LT....I'll give him the benefit of the doubt but that could fail ****ing horribly.

We did roughly the same thing last year for McDuffie and that worked pretty well. CB, especially nowadays is way harder to be successful at than LT. Way harder. Seattle killed it with their LT last year, he helped make Geno freaking Smith a household name and pro bowler.

Again, like I told htis, the draft and combine haven't even happened yet so there's alot of information that will sort this stuff out.

If they can't come to terms and end up trading him.....and this will go over like a lead balloon....I'd look at trading Jones too.

You're gonna want a real blue chip LT prospect so by trading both, you'd have the ammo to start over on the DL, money to spend and wouldn't have to blow out your draft to reload.

You just won the SB so you've got some rope here.

You're not going to the mid/early 20's to get the LT you want.

Probably have to get up in the early 10's.

McDuffie was drafted with the 21st pick overall. You're not getting a legit starting LT at 21st overall without a metric ton of luck. That's just probability.

Sweet...so now we're on the "Trade both our starting LT and star DT" just because of money?

Why does the offseason always ****ing suck around this place?

You're also gonna have a new RT next season.

Two new tackles in one offseason is alot of change to a group Andy has always stressed continuity for.

That doesn't mean much. You remember after the Bucs Super Bowl? We brought in like 4 new starters. I highly doubt Veach cares about 2 new tackles- especially in Wylie's case as he's a bum anyways.

You mean the group Veach completely revamped after the Super Bowl disaster in 2021?

I think it's Veach's call at this point, not Andy's. And he's earned that based on what he did a couple years ago.
