What will happen is what I said would happen. Jones walks, Sneed plays on the tag.

The absolute worst thing you could do is go into the draft with such a huge glaring need. That’s what dumb teams do.

and as I said before, Wayna was the 3rd tackle taken after pick 27 and one of the 3 was drafted as a guard. If we traded up we probably don't have Rice.

No more “watching” this… if he returns, great… and if not the Chiefs will be fine.

The watch is over.

Yep, when you are winning Superbowls it becomes less about individual players, except for Mahomes, and more about the team. I hope Chris looks at Tyreek and stays for a good contract, instead of leaving for a ridiculous contract.

ThyKingdomCome15 03-09-2024 12:10 PM

The Chiefs countered Tyreek leaving by loading up on defense. They could pretty easily flip table and load up on offense. The defense should still be top 10 assuming Sneed is coming back.

Veach could also go full nuclear and trade Sneed after letting Jones walk and totally rely on his high level drafting ability.

Veach is right in his element...

I'm all for going all out wizard. Let these guys be greedy on another team. This in truth is the Patriot way. Hate to say it.

Maybe but again he’s got a HOF resume already.

5X all pro
5X pro bowler
3 time champ
Regarded as top 2 DT for last 5 years

His legacy is set. His odds of getting in Canton at some point are high. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him get a major cash out as the end starts coming

Difference is Tyreek has one ring to Jones' three rings. Would you rather have a chance at a fourth ring or $11 million dollars?

This is brutal.

$5.5m after taxes and some of the commercial money and exposure he gets now would decrease. I would rather play for a team that would compete every year, and truly set my legacy. If Jones leaves to a competitor, or even an NFC team, his legacy won't be the same as if he stayed. If he finishes his career in KC, their will be 95 Jerseys being worn for the next 25 years.

LMAO Legacy for who? He'll still be a top contributor on 4 Superbowl teams with 3 wins and be a hall of famer and be one of the best DTs of his generation. His legacy will be just fine.

This is just a guilt trip into getting guys to take millions of dollars less than they are worth.

And people still wear Jamaal Charles jerseys and he finished his career with the Broncos and Jaguars. They'll still wear a superbowl winning players jersey 25 years from now.

I agree completely but when these agents are in these guys' ears every day things can change. It's pretty rare a guy like TJ Watt walks into the office himself and works it out with the owner.

Jones is going to let the phones ring on Monday. You can bet that much.

Seems to me that Chris Jones just wants the most money possible. In the end, these dudes are mostly all the same in that regard. The Chiefs aren’t going to pay him what he wants is my guess and he’ll get some crazy deal from some shit team. Have fun, Chris!

So you are saying his legacy would be the same if he left as if he finished his career out in KC? You are saying that he most likely won't have more opportunity for additional income with commercials/exposure playing for the Chiefs? It's not a ****ing guilt trip. I could care less if he goes or stays as Veach is going to do what's best for the Chiefs. My point is for $5 or $6 million less after taxes, and the likelihood of having more additional income playing for the Chiefs, it's not much different.

I go to every ****ing home game and do you know how many Jamaal Charles jerseys I see? LMAO
