You need to trade up for Mingo tomorrow. No excuses.

Oh good. Was afraid we'd go full bonkers and draft a WR in rd 1. Instead we took a DE I've never heard of.

What makes that worse is he’s like 30-40 minutes away from Union Station.

Clearly didn’t expect to be picked tonight.

I disagree on the Texans. Run the calculations on their trade up... They paid almost double depending on which chart you use. Anderson is a great pick, but you can't ignore what it cost.

He’s been regularly floated around as an upper end DE prospect. Do a little research you shouldn’t be disappointed.

He does. Really good motor.

I just don't see an elite first step or the functional strength to overcome it. But he he'll be a really easy player to root for.

I just worry about him almost getting home a lot.

philfree 04-27-2023 10:04 PM

It was a need and being a local kid, he might have a little extra boost.

Now who do pick tomorrow? Our RT Cody Mauch?

Chieftain 04-27-2023 10:04 PM

He was projected to go high in the 2nd so not necessarily a reach pick. And a position of need.

KCTitus 04-27-2023 10:04 PM

Did anyone find the irony of Baltimore drafting a WR while having a running QB? Talk about missing in the draft.

It’s not the wr pick most were pining for but he’s probably a day 1 upgrade from frank Clark over all.

Im just glad we didnt reach for a WR.

WR board played out mostly as expected. Some really good WR prospects coming up tomorrow.

Thought the same thing watching the highlight package on NFLN.

He was getting home because the QB couldn't make a decision, not because he was dominating his man.

He played in a 3-3-5 a lot on a really bad defensive line and still produced.

Really wanted the elite WR prospect but I'm fine with this pick. It's a fairly safe pick. He's a quality speed rush off the edge and will get better against the run as he grows his game.

This has probably already been said, but after seeing all the pomp and circumstance that went into the Chiefs’ pick— the Lombardy trophy presentation, the live band, the fireworks—it really seems like either the NFL or Clark Hunt prohibited us from trading our pick, up or down. The 31st pick has been choreographed for weeks.

It was season before this last, he just showed up in a game in a big way out of no where. Because it was out of no where it was initially thought it was just a one off. Something clicked for him that week as it turns out because he has just kept producing and getting better since.

This story says that the Chiefs made an offer to Dallas to trade up. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/report-...031654554.html That means that we were looking for one of the following players:

Mazi Smith
Anton Harrison
Myles Murphy
Bryan Bresee
Nolan Smith
Felix Anudike-Uzomah

That doesn't tell us anything since we liked all of those players.

That's all Clark Hunt wanting to make the pick in Kansas City and I don't blame him. It was badass when he put the third Lombardi on the mantel and they showed the 3 trophies was just glorious. Clark Hunt deserved that moment in the spotlight.

This might be an unpopular opinion but I'm glad we didn't pick a WR, including Hyatt. I get the need but at 31 there was absolutely noone i didn't think was a reach, and I still feel how I felt months ago...it's not a good year for WRs so let's not overspend. I think Felix was probably BPA in one of our areas of need.
