Imagine if Geno had Charles, Bowe, and the Chiefs' defense instead of the shitty Jets.

The jets d is as good as the chiefs

I'm not backing off my prediction that Rex will find a way to ruin Geno. Ryan is that bad.

After tonight's game, it will be a little harder for the "Geno is trash" crowd to argue he was a bust right out of the box, rather than Rex just ruining him. Probably by screwing with his head, but he will find some way to ruin him I believe.

Let it go for crying out loud. The Chiefs didn't draft him. What is the point of harping on this continually?

But it really is. Seriously.

It is.. but Geno shouldn't be faulted for that. He made the throws he needed to make, and I say good for him. Does this mean he will ever be really good? No... can't overlook 2 fumbles lost and 8 INTs so far just because he played well against a shit defense last night. But last night? Choco Penii did well... had good pass pro and wide open targets frequently.. but he still was good.

Bottom line is Geno is a Jet. KC made their choice, so sure... enjoy the Geno ride all you want... but try and leave behind the childish tantrums of him not being a Chief. Enjoy the KC ride too, and don't misdirect your displeasure of Reid's choice to the QB. Alex is here because Reid and Dorsey wanted him here. He is here to do his absolute best to win as many KC games as possible. So you mad, bro? Be mad at the HC and GM.

Nice to see Geno have a good game. The kid is oozing with potential. If he can just clean up the TO's, the Jets will have themselves a nice QB.

Personally, I think Geno looked better last night than Alex Smith has at any point this season. And the Chiefs have played some shitty defenses as well.

smith is a rookie playing with the worst collection of offensive talent in the league...and has more passing yards, the same number of tds, and a higher completion percentage then the 9 year vet playing with Charles and Bowe

that's called upside...

There are a few things going on:

1) When Geno has had poor games - like the week before, when he turned it over a bunch - the anti-Geno crowd has bumped the thread to mock him and those of us who thought he had big-time potential. So when Geno has a GOOD game, the pro-Geno crowd is going to do the same.

2) The Chiefs made a clear choice between Geno Smith and Alex Smith. If Geno becomes a star NFL QB sooner rather than later (Not a guarantee but he certainly has flashed the potential multiple times), and Alex Smith remains a middle-of-the-pack guy, the Chiefs FO chose incorrectly.

I think that's a stretch with the second paragraph, though geno looked better than most rookies do at certain points last night. I won't feel the need to compare these 2 players until A geno becomes a chief or B in 8 years when geno has been in the league as long as smith has to this point. We are playing winning football though so I don't care too much for flashy 50 point games. I think the 2 Denver games will really show alot about our qb. I don't care how we win the sb, just as long as we win it, and stay in contention for it year in year out like some teams are.

Then you're left hoping, like the rest of us, that Alex Smith turns into a legitimate franchise QB, because that's the best way to consistently do what you're calling for in the bold.

Why are you setting 8 years as the mark for comparing the two? Doesn't make sense to me. If Geno turns into a star (By the end of next season, or the end of this season) and becomes a BETTER player than Alex Smith, you can compare it at that point.

As it is, Alex Smith's current leg up rests solely on his ball protection (which runs his passer rating a measly 3.5 points higher than Geno Smith's). Geno is superior in other key measures (completion percentage, YPA) or even (TD passes).

We were told Alex Smith was the right move for KC because it allowed the Chiefs to win NOW. It is starting to look like KC could have had its cake and eaten it, too, with Geno Smith.
