Anyway, supposedly Tallet got in an argument with Cito Gaston (the manager) when he was taken out of the game. I think it was because Cito came out immediately after the 0-2 pitch that Butler doubled to LF and told him how stupid the pitch was.

Do you consider that to be showing up a pitcher?

All it means is that he is good in short spurts for an inning or two (and there is some value in that). Being a starter is far more difficult, and he has proven that he's not up to this task throughout his career.

I still have no idea why you called me a douche. I haven't bashed the Royals at all.

LOL sorry, no harm intended. i just generally call anyone who is not a royals fan a douche.

no, if you are getting your ass kicked by the royals, you deserve everything a manager could possibly say to you or do to you.

Thought I would give an update from the Farm. I went to the Naturals game tonight against Springfield.. and it was a bizarre game. Naturals starter Wood gave up 8 runs in the second inning. After that though the NWA Bullpen kept Springfield off the board. Thanks to the Cardinals Wild Pitching the Naturals caught up, and took it to extra innings 8-8. In the bottom of the 12th NWA won after Springfield threw into the outfield. I truly thought this was a strange game.. and I have seen many strange Minor League, and College games.

Sounds pretty interesting. I've been checking NWA box scores every few days or so, and I'm rooting for Chris Hayes to make it someday. A ball player with a blog this awesome deserves a shot.

I might go to the game next week here in Springfield. Hopefully the Naturals will prevail here in town. Screw the (baby) cards!

You just know that if Zack played for New York or Boston or LA that he'd be on the front page of every national sports site on the internet right now. :shake: ****ers.

He's playing so good that they should be talking about him until we're sick of it. You know that tomorrow they'll just be back to yapping about whatever stupid photo shoot A-Rod did this week.

at the end of the show, some dude on baseball tonight said he is the best pitcher in baseball.

Sure-Oz 04-30-2009 07:01 AM

he was on SC last night and baseball tonight and then on mike and mike this morning buster onley was talking about him and raving, along with Lincecum.

I was actually more encouraged by Butler going 4 for 5 with 2 HR's last night more than anything. Lets hope its not just a tease...

He drove the ball too, this is the kind of hitting we have all expected from billllaaayyyy

The dude has done it in the minors and it wasnt a weak .300 hitter, he hit rockets...he's still 23 and i hope we can see many more days like this.

I was encouraged.

Honest question for those with more playing experience than me...

Didn't Butler work his ASS off this past off-season to become stronger and leaner? If so, and if there was a "dramatic" change in his physique, is it possible it messed with his swing a little? Could we be seeing a sort of learning curve with him and his new body? At THIS level, it seems to me that any change could result in the need to adjust. BUT, if tonight was an indication of what that off-season work will yield, I will forgive him his .193-no-homer-April-adjustment-period.
