Pretty goddamned disappointing, actually.
I can add, when we went to River Falls back in the day - Tony Gonzalez was one of the all-time uber pricks when it came to signing autographs.

Oh yeah. When I was in high school my uncle and two little cousins (8 years oldish) went to River Falls. It was after Tony's breakout year. Somehow he had timed it just right so there weren't any fans around when he was walking to the facility except for my two cousins and me. I understood that he probably wouldn't want to sign my stuff, so I just walked up and said, "Hey Tony, would it be okay if you signed a hat or two?"
He ignored me and kept walking.
My cousin then called out, "Mr. Gonzalez, could we have your autograph?"
Tony stops, grumbles, and goes, "Yeah, make it quick though. Which hat am I signing?"
My two cousins both gave their hat to him. "Which one, dudes? I'm only doing one." They just looked at each other. One of them thought he was joking around, so he said, "How about both?"
"Nuh-uh. You guys got 5 seconds to pick or I'm outta here." I looked at him and he was totally serious.
I started asking the older brother if he would be cool with letting his younger sibling have the autograph, but before he could say anything, Tony just goes, "Screw it. I'll do both. You guys are taking too long." He scribbled out a signature on each hat, shoved them at me and walked off. I told my cousins to say thank you, which they did, but I didn't even get a "Yep" in response.
You don't have to sign autographs, but it should be kind of an expectation that you be polite(ish) to fans. I know we all have bad days and if you're getting nothing but autograph requests it can get frustrating, but holy shit. What a ****ing bitch.
