In short, there is a good chance that he is going to follow Matt Abdelmassih. Diallo loves him some Abdel. We aren't recruiting against ISU, St. Johns, UK...we are recruiting against Abdelmassih in regards to Diallo.

Which is actually good for us, because if you follow CBB you will know that Matt Abdelmassih was one of, if not the top, recruiter for ISU.

Mullins and Abdelmassih are buds and once Mullins got the St Johns job, Abdemassih wasn't going to be far behind.

Yeah it's funny they also grabbed Kentuckys lead recruiter for Diallo. I thought it was between Kansas and ISU, but now that St Johns hired Matt from us I think it's Ku or St Johns.

If we can convince him St. Johns sucks, yes.

One KU recruit off the board. Stephen Zimmerman has committed to UNLV, per him and his creepy stepmom. Many have said though that it's one recruit that a program would be lucky NOT getting because his stepmom is trouble. Red flag.

Self has to land Diallo. Has to. Being a top 10 team next yr depends on it. Adding a wing with him (Jaylen Brown or Brandon Ingram) puts us up another level as Final Four contenders. Self recently stated that the talent level would be as high as it has been if we could add another wing (couldn't state names because that's against the rules).

No it doesn't. This is easily a top ten with or without him. KU was a top ten team last year. They lost Oubre. Thats it. Im not even counting Alexander because they didnt play anyworse or better with or without him. Theres no way Selden can possibly be that bad ever again. Perry will likely not be injured. Frank will be better , Devonte will be better, Svi could take leaps & bounds, Bragg should at least equal Alexanders production. I have no clue why people dont think this is a Top 5 team, let alone a Top 10 team. The thing that makes me quite giddy is how they really improved their defensive rating over the 2nd part of the year. They really made strides even without a rim protector. Perry, while still shitty, did improve defensively as well. I really like next years veteran laden squad.

To be fair, that was a last minute switch. He also called Wiggins to KU before anyone else. Anyone who follows recruiting knows there are always possible last minute wrinkles. Not saying your source is incorrect, but Matt Scott has been right a lot more than he has been wrong.

He has said it could change and that if he or this other guy change their picks, then you know something has for sure changed. Until then, he feels pretty confident about Diallo.

That said, KU is a Top 10 favorite with or without him. They move closer to a Final Four contender with him.
