While not my personal favorite right here, Bill Belichick loves this kid and I have to try to be realistic. Having an outstanding slot player that can also slip into the Z role like Wes Welker and Julian Edelman is something Bill values highly. I think Bill will pull the trigger early on Phillps to get that back.

His stop-to-max speed ability is otherworldly. His routes and hands are good. He has good elusiveness against the first wave. There's not much not to like in terms of a slot player. He doesn't have the blow-your-doors-off speed or a 40 inch vertical, but it's not going to matter much.

The Raiders are feeling confident with this selection. They don't imagine he'll be a bust and metaphorically die in a horrifying helicopter crash.
