If someone wants to avoid spoilers, they should probably avoid message boards. I'm fine with trying to enforce the anti-spoiler rule if the community wants to do that, doesn't make a difference to me, but its an utterly futile effort. Chiefs picks will get spoiled if they leak, guaranteed. If you don't want to know, avoid the message board.

No biggie. Carry on.

CALLED IT!

The Franchise 04-27-2012 05:54 PM

This is after the pick.

Kent Babb ‏ @kentbabb
Allen is 6-5, 315 pounds. He could easily shift inside to play guard. #Chiefs aren't in need of a tackle, so that'd be what I would guess.

Kent Babb ‏ @kentbabb
That said, Allen never played guard at Illinois. He was a second-team all-Big Ten tackle last year. Played both tackle spots in 4 yrs.

Setsuna 04-27-2012 05:54 PM

Meh. Let's hope he works out for you guys.

the Talking Can 04-27-2012 05:54 PM

DaKCMan AP 04-27-2012 05:55 PM

I could live with it if they move him to OG.

QuikSsurfer 04-27-2012 05:55 PM

I love this pick.

ChiefsCountry 04-27-2012 05:55 PM

Jeff Allen is a really good pick for the Chiefs. I had him as a late second round pick, but this is a good choice. He fits our scheme vary well, also versitle.

Papi 04-27-2012 05:55 PM

I feel like we could have taken him later...

Hammock Parties 04-27-2012 05:55 PM

As much as I hated Poe, I like this pick. Good job Pioli. Eat shit, though.

Bump 04-27-2012 05:55 PM

Well we have a ton of options for our oline, cant be a bad thing

This about where he was expected to go. Scouts, Inc 2nd round draft today had us taking him so they nailed it.

Versatility is the key. We need someone who can move around and fill in case of injury. :thumb:

Just like Hudson was G that's best as an NFL C...

Best Guard available

Great move. Had to go this way with DeCastro and Silatolu gone. I'm still not happy with the Poe pick, but I guess water-under-the-bridge.

The guy has a hardon for linemen it's pretty blatantly obvious.

all 3 years here 2 of his first 3 picks have been linemen of some sort.

Setsuna 04-27-2012 05:57 PM

Isn't that weird how you guys just sat there in both rounds and didn't move up at all? Why is that?

Buck 04-27-2012 05:57 PM

Much better pick than Poe, IMO.

I'm not on the board to get the jump on who the picks are. I'm on the board to share thoughts and a laugh with like-minded people that cheer for our team. It's not a difficult request.

Looks like he's roughly the 3rd-best offensive lineman available. If the chiefs wanted to draft that position, and if they are convinced that Jeff Allen is their guy, they probably couldn't wait till their 3rd round pick to get him.

actually, if people insist we have to read twitter just because they do, maybe they could just start a ****ing thread where the twitter d-bags could hang out...

but i realize that is an onerous request...asking someone to stop dropping their pants in public
