And to think we would change our mind after one game against the worst team in the NFL, after we've seen that in recent seasons, too, is just as absurd.

I know there has to be at least some level of trolling going on here, or at least I hope so, because the alternative is just too mind numbing to accept.

Why do you care why I care?

I like Alex Smith. There have been a shit ton of lies and bullshit spread over this forum since I have been here about him.

And almost to a T, I explained what he was, what he wasn't, what he would do, how the Chiefs defense would play, and about how the coaching would make a difference.

I never have said he was all world, or great. But people dissing him for his yardage?

The Chiefs had phenomenal field position all day long. Their defense didn't allow the Jags into their side of the field until the fourth quarter.

Alex Smith didn't have to do anything special, but he was super efficient, and made plays when they were there to be made......

Why don't you lecture Clay for continuing to spout his bullshit over and over.

Im just telling the truth.

I agree, Alex Smith sucks because his defense destroyed the Jags today.

Alex did a nice job not ****ing up the game today.

To praise him for that is going a bit far.

He'll need to play much better if we're to beat Dallas.

He played very well in half 1 when the game mattered. The KC offense just slacked off in half 2 when the game was pretty well decided. I think Reid just decided to save his best and coast.... all about the W.

No, im not missing the point. YOU ARE. Alex didn't have to do anything special today.

The defense, did what was necessary today. next week, yes, the offense will have to show more. But for you to downgrade Alex's performance today because of what his teammates did around him is goofy.

You are penalizing him because of who they played and a game that was over at half time.

That seems quite weird to me. But expected.

BINGO. Maybe you do get it. Well, except for the part where you are trying to take away from the things he did well. The Hemmingway td was spectacular.

That was his third read and a throw only where Hemmingway could get it, and get his feet inbounds.

And I tried explaining this to you about the 2011 season. This is exactly how the 49ers went 13-3.

This same exact types of play.

But your retort to me was this.

"The Chiefs don't have a top 5 defense to rely on."

Uh, you sure about that?

Now that our 5th preseason game is over, it's going to hurt us.

So how important is winning the turnover battle as it pertains to winning in the NFL? According to boston.com and Stats Driven’s David Sabino a study taken from a ten-year sample of games from 2002 to 2011 shows that assumed equally matched teams, forcing just one turnover more than the opposition boosts a team’s chances of victory 19 percent (50 to 69 percent). With a turnover margin of plus 2, a team’s chances of victory goes up to 84 percent, and at plus 3 or above, the odds of a win go up to a whopping 93 percent.
GB had 2 turnovers.

Salary does have something to do with it.

Then you change the equation and state your opinion on that.

Who cares what a random few say. If you have something to say, say it.
If you have a question ask it.

Arguing from outlier bullet points is reeruned.

Mike Mayock had Gabbert as his #1 QB prospect in 2011.

It did. Also the fact that Kaep was Jims qb from day one.

Also, I think that Kaep is a little better suited to run the offense that Jim wants. Alex is more fit to run the type that Andy wants. Win win. Both teams will win this year.
