If I'm Seattle I just extend the guy and do right by a franchise stalwart, but that should've been done a long time ago now.

I don't think they'll extend him at this point.

Peters screwed Kc while forcing his way out. He's not the norm.

Well, he's spouting off publicly that he's going to half ass or completely skip practices and he's running to another teams locker room begging for them to trade for him. That won't help the cause.

I agree. Best thing for them to do is trade him and salvage what assets they can. 31 other teams know this.

I don't understand how they can ask for so much for a guy who is a fa next year and wants a big contract that they obviously dont want to give him.

It does, like trading their 1st, a 3rd & a 6th to move up 2 spots to take Ryan Sims.

The Browns will tell you how much of a sure thing 1st round picks are. Didn't Chicago trade their souls just to move up a couple spots for Mitch? Ryan Leif, David Carr, and countless other 1st rounders didn't pan out to well either.

There's no sense in my repeating the pros of this trade, as they've been touched multiple times, but ET is an instant upgrade to our entire D. If EB can, by some miracle, return to form then we go from worst secondary in the league to a truly elite unit.

Sassy Squatch 09-26-2018 02:00 PM

Deal is done, guys.

Saw Earl Thomas at Best Buy in Overland Park.

He was wearing a red shirt. I said "Hey Earl, Go Chiefs!"

Yes, I know he still sells a lot of your jerseys to the 2nd loudest fans in the NFl, but all we will give you is a 2nd round this year and a Conditional 5th next year or you can go **** yourself. Oh and you eat half his salary for the next two years. What? You don't like it... Okay make it Earl and a 6th rounder next year for a 3rd rounder this year or shove it up your ass!"

To be fair, there's 1.2 points separating all of those guys. If Mack isn't in that 1.2 spread, he doesn't belong on the list. There's no context, just numbers.

They have another Bear defender ahead of him.

I get he only played like a half that first week, but he's damn near been the MVP so far thru 3 games.

3rd&Long 09-26-2018 02:19 PM

If it was going to happen it would have been so by now. If he's moved, it's most likely to his preferred team in Dallas so, there it is.

Have you watched the Bears much? Hicks is a beast and he's been every bit as good as Mack through 3 weeks.

But if it makes you feel better, Mack is rated 91.1, 1/10th of a point behind Hicks. ;)

The twitter account that reported they were working on a contract last night says that Seattle wants a 1st (2019) and 3rd (2020) and that the Chiefs want the price to come down.

Makes sense cause that’s essentially what Terez has been saying too.

Well you didn't specify a front office you said when have Chiefs. Make up your mind you know you have a offensive minded coach. Very seldom do they field too notch defenses unless they have a powerful defensive minded GM. But you keep calling people stupid it makes you feel better for yourself.

They can give them permission to talk contracts ahead of time, that way as soon as a trade is agreed to then it’s just done right there.

Seattle might allow it as a bit of leverage. "Oh, you've worked an extension out? Great. Pay our price."

pugsnotdrugs19 09-26-2018 03:03 PM

I’d give up the 1st all day at this point. Especially with the Rams losing Talib.

That was maybe their biggest SB competition and they lost a critical piece. Go get Thomas and make the gap even larger, or closer, however you may see it between the Chiefs and Rams.
