Not for me... if Smart had been a Jayhawk, instead of "he's a ****ing clown" at most it could have been "I really like ____ and ___ and ___ about him, but he's such a ****ing clown. Of course, I wouldn't complain if a flop and free throws won a game, but I wouldn't hide that clown shoes was the reason why, either.

Players throwing their head back at the tiniest bit of contact or the slightest breeze is apparently really cool now, but it's just as annoying when Mason does it 10 times a game as any opponent.

Sure, but the entire thing makes little sense. Stephen Curry exaggerates contact all game every game on both ends (to great effect, I should add) and he's the golden boy of the NBA right now. But when Marcus Smart does the same thing, he's supposedly a bad guy? Come on now. It's all part of the game of basketball.

Marcus Smart is a good defender, Perry Ellis is an awful one, and you have been banned from KU basketball threads for trolling.

It's not my fault you have a problem with these truths.

2 years later and we're still obsessing over this guy like he's still at OSU. Oh, I'd say the butthurt is real all right.

Celtics fan as well as a Jayhawk fan. Love some Marcus Smart. Can confirm he is a great defender and a great team player.

What really bothers me is when a three point shooters legs "break" after the defender doesn't even touch him. It's garbage. I get that almost everybody is doing it, but refs either need to not fall for that shit or enforce some sort of fine or tech foul for it.

If players are going to get rewarded for flopping, I'm not going to blame them. Good for Mason taking advantage of what everyone else is doing.

But I wish both NCAA and NBA would get rid of that. Review the potential flops during commercial breaks. If the player flopped, not only would you remove the foul (if one was called) and remove any points for free throws, but, for egregious cases, I would call a technical on the player that flopped. At some point, say under two minutes, you might have to stop play instead of wait for a break in the action. Or force the opposing coach to call a time out if they want a review.

But the flopping is bad and it would be fairly straight forward to eliminate it.

I've never seen Curry flop while playing defense, then LIE ON THE COURT HOLDING HIS FACE EVEN THOUGH THE REFS ALREADY SAID NO FOUL

RealSNR 02-23-2016 04:25 PM

I never hated Marcus Smart when he was at OSU, but after seeing that play last night against my Timberwolves, I now want that one who sucks the penis crucified

RealSNR 02-23-2016 04:42 PM

Better view of the flop (as if it wasn't clear enough already)

I'm KC Connection and I respect the hell out of players who winge like big gay babies! Great basketball!

RealSNR 02-23-2016 04:44 PM

He didn't just fall to the floor and act for a moment, either.

He STAYED ON THE FLOOR FOR LIKE 30 SECONDS continuing to fake wince in pain as if the refs have EVER once changed their minds on a call in the history of an NBA game because of how much a player got hurt.

saphojunkie 02-23-2016 04:51 PM

KC Connection has been a ****ing idiot for years about this. Why expect change now?

I've seen Curry do the very same and then bitch and complain for an entire minute during in-game action, which is arguably more aggravating. But he's the golden boy.

The butthurt is especially strong in this one.

If flopping is a good reason to hate somebody, I suppose we all should just start hating Frank Mason* too.

*KU's best player, Frank Mason
