So I'm thinking about coming off the Keto diet and just eating healthy. Apparently it really speeds up your heart rate and that is concerning to me.
My resting heart rate has been in between 88-110. Anyways I have a few questions. My dad always told me that carbs turn into fat if you don't use them. I'm guessing this isn't true. Whats a good general Carb-Fat-Protein Ratio? |

I had been told by Saul that I could but when I looked at the nutrition facts I saw "4 carbs" and immediately dismissed it, but it also has 17 protein so thats an ok ratio for keto.. I'm going to be eating a lot of Cottage cheese I love that shit. Anyways. Woke up remarkably late today. Just ate breakfast and had 3 egg whites, 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and a teaspoon of Sriracha (love it if you haven't had it, try it). |
Men's Health recommends striving to do 2 things as a rule of thumb. Always try to eat more protein & more fiber & that will take care of the rest. Do this with 5 small meals per day.
Calories - the theory is that the small portions keep calories down & the protein & fiber keep you feeling full. Carbs - If you fill your diet with foods that are high in fiber, you'll be eating whole grains & veggies (in lieu of processed grains and sugars) for your carbs + the protein. I realize this is extremely simple & most of you will flip out & hate it, but I thought it was a pretty good rule of thumb for those who hate the idea of counting calories or trying to track ratios. This little rule is actually how I got started. |
